Blodgett, hearing his name, stops pacing. Invisible? Me? Again? What's the plan? he asks.

Freda pulls out the bottle and says, "Good idea. There are enough doses here for several people, though. Let's place anyone with ranged capabilities on the north side of the room. Blodget can hide under the stairs for an attack from behind."

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Dredd stands ready - keeping an eye up the ladder.
"I think it may be wise to post ourselves at the top of the ladder in case of an attack from that direction - we don't want to be conceding the high ground. What do you think?" he asks Elj

Eljayess agrees. "I can hold that hole by myself, with this, nothing will get through." She hold up her spear and shield. "It shouldn't be an issue, just rear guard, just in case."

With that she turns and climbs the ladder. "Thanks for offering though."

Dredd climbs the ladder too - intending to stand at the top of it to keep Elj in sight and link back to the party.

Dredd, Phanstern whispers, Perhaps your wand would be of use in this situation? If we all pull back, allow them to batter open the door, and peg them on the stairwell while they are bunched together? I mean, if those men are capable of "Slicing the Pig-Men in half," it may be prudent to have an equally potent welcome for them...

"still think getting them stuck on the staircase will create a bottle neck and better vantage point for us. Perhaps LJS could run to the top of the stairs and growl at them from this side...in orcish of course...might put them off if they think the guards are alive on this side of the door?"

OOC: it does create a bottleneck, but having the higher ground gives them the advantage. I believe there is even a mechanical To Hit bonus on the dice rolls in OSRIC in that situation.

Ogre; shifting impatiently asks; "Where should I position myself? I'm ready to take the fight to these bastard slavers"; he hisses.
