It’s clear somebody has been onboard and damaged it. Who and why is anybody’s speculation without evidence. Until and unless we know who, I think, like, we should probably try our best to conceal or provide “alternative” explanations about what’s in the tail end of this gnarly boat!

Ty will help Gabe and Easy finish the concealment work. Then he’ll chip in with the electronics work…he has an electronics tool kit…bought with HeC card and his name engraved on all of it.
From the records he can tell the flight logs have been accessed, their top level of encryption easily broken, and someone has taken a download.
Is there a way to correlate the date the flight logs were accessed in relation to when the ship’s boat crashed and the date Pinkwater entered the ship? How about the date of the Systems Room last access date?

Ty scratches his head and sighs as he scans through the logs again just to make sure he hadn't made a mistake. He's quite certain now. The flight log download happened a day before Pinkwater boarded the Perfect Stranger.

["You tink there's live bombs on board? Then we should search for dem before we start any work," Gabe says in a serious tone.
Paranoid about an explosive device hidden somewhere onboard, Gabe scours the ship while the others are working on trying to cover up the true nature Perfect Stranger's strangeness.

Several hours into his search he comes across an access panel in the ladderwell leading to the Launch (if there was a Launch), that is closed shut with several strips of thick black electrical tape. Strangely the opening mechanism seems in working order so why tape it shut?

Sweating, he carefully cuts the tape with his multi-tool and gently swings open the panel a crack to get a better look. Not seeing any wires he swings the door open and finds a small bundle tucked into a void spaces between the various conduits and wiring systems.

The bundle is actually a bag containing 10 Imperial Credit Plates, each marked with CR 10,000. He lets out a low whistle and smiles to himself, That's a hundred grand meng!

Gabe

Interesting! Gabe sets the bundle aside for now, and with the access panel completely open he shines his torch in and around to see if any other goodies have been secreted in the space.

In any case, he's not keeping this find to himself. "Yo, ¡cabrones!..."

Well, that’s intriguing. Ty knows he should help with repairs, but that timeline catches his attention. Perhaps solving this riddle needs to happen to ensure they can shuttle the ship back to Imperial hands.

He will dig even deeper into the ship logs to review all external door openings and determine patterns of behavior. Starting from arrival on Acadie, he woukd expect to see external door openings/closings that look consistent with arrival behaviors (cargo offloading, life support refills, catering, basic servicing/maintenance, more comings and goings during day time than local night). He’d continue assessing the logs to see if anything unusual stands out the day before the ship’s boat departs. He would definitely peruse closely the door timestamps from the day befor until present.

Does anything appear unusual?

Were any doors opens between the Pinkwater entry and present?

Once he’s delved as deep as he can on door logs and ship’s boat records, scan the system diagnostics/maintenance logs to see when subsystem components started tripping off-line. Can he piece together a context for those failures in the timeline of the flight log download and ship boat departure?

On shipwide intercom…
Ya Gabe.

He’d suggest using that cash for the repairs. Ty would be willing to delay his repayment of impound fees if the crew wants to use that remaining seed money to buy and sell freight as they travel to accomplish their mission. He’d be willing to take his 29,500 credits from the profits earned later on. Split any profits evenly?

After Gabe’s discussion winds down, he'll inform the crew via open ship intercom of his findings and the contextual timeline of the flight log download, the ship boat departure the following day followed by Pinkwater’s arrival after that.

What d’ya make of that? I’m still digging deeper to see if there are any more clues in the ship data. Can’t think of any reason why an insider threat would need a copy of the flight log. Did someone or something infiltrate the ship to get the download? Where was the crew then? Hmm…

By the way…Pinkwater is a local Acadie dirt-side Merc company. Not seeing much to indicate a naval or merchant component to them.

Is there a log of internal door operation timestamps?

$100,000kcr. Hidden in the Launch access tunnel? Seems set up to snatch on exit instead of secure Ship's Locker vault. But it wasn't snatched up by the two deceased crewmen.

Did they not know about it? Maybe it was exchanged, this cash in brown envelopes as payment for the data cores; only whoever was leaking the data never got to recover their spends? Curious, just adds to the unknowns.

Aziz 'Easy' Schmidt speculates when informed.

Interestingly, the ships safe, in the captain's cabin was broken into and contents removed. The crew discovered that earlier on during the search but I forgot to cover during the ensuing posts. Ships Locker was intact as far as you can tell.

I am going to close this thread and start a new one for Day 3 so I can keep my time straight. I'll start with a Day 2 recap.
