Drest is the nicest guy in the group, at least on the nice per point of Chr scale. :lorcl:

That was some of the best non DM RPing I have seen in these games.

Well done on the interesting (and somewhat tense) introductions.

Maybe I should leave the game more often?

It is an interesting mix of individuals/classes, which I think leads to some interesting role play.

I imagine going to Old School conventions weekend after weekend would be a blast, but draining on the pocketbook!

Yes, that and the physical burnout factor for an old man like myself.

I was glad to be feeling no evidence of sickness after the first con, but with 2 different players coughing all the way through my last game, I have started feeling a little of the Con Crud effect. (hopefully its all in my head)

Blasting up on Vitamin C and Zicam today, hoping for the best.

And whiskey...that never hurts either :D
In fact, you can make yourself a "hot toddy" at night...for whatever ails you...if anything!

Oh, ya! A hot toddy sounds wonderful.

But I think I better give my liver a break after the last 2 weeks of gaming convention life.

That makes me think of Rob Kuntz, was he at either of the cons you attended?

I've heard from other fans that he's not adverse to beer.

OGRE MAGE wrote: Sat Nov 25, 2023 8:53 pm Xenos recklessly opens the skin-bound tome, locating at least one page of spell notes that he can comprehend as the Darkness spell, and several others he cannot. Passing the book around, Ceana sees Befriend Animals, Kain locates the Bless prayer, and Belloc hits the jackpot with Charm Person, Sleep, Ventriloquism, and Levitate. None in the group can decipher the three remaining spells in the book. (Darkness can also be used by Mage2 or Cleric2)
EDITED: Updating what we know about the Toad Matron's grimoire:

Alter Self (Wi1, Il2) (educated guess bro!)
Befriend Animals (Dr1, Wi2)
Bless (Cl1, Wi2)
Charm Person (Ma1, Wi1)
Sleep (Ma1, Wi1)
Ventriloquism (Ma1, Wi1)

Darkness (Cl2, Ma2, Ne2, Wi2)
Levitate (Ma2, Wi2)
Placate (Wi2)

custom spell Summon Knot of Toads (??)

Magda is keen to transcribe Charm Person before anything else. Note that copying a first level spell into one's own spellbook takes 3 days, but only about 10-15 gp in materials.

Oops!

It was Alter Self. (how did you know that)

I must have missed that since it's 1st level for Witch and 2nd level for Illusionist.

Xenos would certainly be up for learning darkness, I'm not sure if any of his spells can be learned by others, but if so then I'm open to a discussion.

I don't think Magda can use any of Xenos' spells, but if asked she might teach him one he could learn (eg. Decipher Language) in return for a future favor. ;)

That was a good line... very Belloc-esque!

Also, I missed in the description (2 turns ago) that the stairs have a rise of 3 feet each. :!: :!: Kain noticed but I'm waiting for someone else to make a comment about it...

You mean like this one?
The_Wanderer wrote: Wed Apr 10, 2024 8:31 pm Is it just the rise that is 3 ft or is also the tread 3 feet deep? If it is just the rise and the tread is a normal 11 or so inches, then these would be frighteningly steep.
3' high, 3' deep, and several feet wide.

I'm on a business trip until Sunday and won't be able to check/post as often. Feel free to RP my character in a no suicidal way.
