Any Monty Python fans here?
Wait until you discover that the First Group just fled from the "Killer Rabbits" ... and is still running!
Uh oh, we just tripled the OOC chat thread going forward with Classic Python references :D

Ability 0-2 = -1
Ability 3-5 = 0
Ability 6-8 = +1
Ability 9-11 = +2
Ability 12+ = +3
Thanks, I knew I read it somewhere, so he'd get +2 for INT and +1 for EDU.

As for whether we go get the vehicle now, I'm waiting to see what the weather forecast is before choosing a side. :)

Joe's already said he's for staying put for the night, but he's trying to get a reading on a 'nowcast' as well. ooc: Joe has (+2 Int &, +2 Edu, +1 Nav, +1 Pilot), so a +3 or +4 on the roll?

I went ahead and rolled for EVERYONE. While I generally keep such things behind the curtain, I thought you might like to see Joe's roll ...
Joe nowcasting: roll [2] ... I didn't bother checking skills or modifiers. ;)
What do you think of how I applied Joe's roll in the IC Post?

A general note on EVERYONE's "nowcasting" ... for a skill/bonus to apply, you have to have a reasonable chance to apply it. Everyone is at a natural disadvantage at this moment because you have too few data points. If you look at a barometer reading, is it rising or falling? You don't know because you only have less than an hour's worth of data. What do the clouds look like? nobody knows because it is NIGHT.

So I made rolls for everyone and applied any bonuses that you might be able to use (including partial bonuses). In 12 or 24 hours, you will be better at nowcasting because you will have better data to make predictions with.

The forecasts still converged on WHAT and differed on the WHEN ... that's the way the rolls came out.

There’s obviously a slight tension between Mick and Olivia and the rest about going out in the blizzard. Normal group dynamics: Forming, Storming, Norming, then Performing.

I kinda see a little tension as normal and healthy…even in role play.

Keep in mind that Jim has been acutely aware of the weather conditions, and he's been under hours of stress of flying a new to him craft in hazardous conditions to unknown locations. He's also a leader by nature, and wise use of resources is a mandate. Since Mick agreed to wait a little bit, that should let Jim step back and decompress.

We have others who can fly the plane. We should be swapping out pilots at regular intervals, by having the replacement copilot for a while beforehand.

My apologies, you are correct. I just wanted something to do with Jim; at this point he's mostly an NPC. I don't have the mental energy or cycles to give him his due.

No worries, it was just an observation for the future, nothing negative inferred.

Understood; you guys are doing great, my mind is elsewhere.

atpollard, if Olivia needs cold weather gear or anything else she can use Jim's.

... sure, NOW you suggest it. ;)

Mick hopes to purchase the mega-bore sized version of the Chiappa Triple Criwn and its Short-barreled version the Triple Threat. 😁😁

Thanks for the heads up. Always good to know when things will slow down.

Never feel bad for letting real life take precedence over the game!!

I agree about real life. Jim is a great character but there's so much going on that I can't really get into the game. Sorry. atpollard, please NPC Jim as you see fit.

OOC: I was doing taxes, and other things, Monday so, frankly, I didn't have the energy or inclination to deal with the games. Sorry about that. I'm perfectly fine with a slower pace...not dead slow, but slower. :)

Oh, and while I'm at it, I have a 'procedure' scheduled for next Monday, so odds are I'll be MIA that day as well.
