Additional Code Tags?

Two Three some suggestions
a) Something that will draw a horizontal line and allow a page to be split

b) Something that will allow a table to be drawn

c) A box that isn't a quote box. i.e. for equipment stats or similar stuff. e.g....

Magic Rope.
+4 Vs Horrible Creature.

Length: 30'
Self-Knotting
d) Dialog is for said stuff, Normal Text for done stuff, ooc for commentary on/about the character. Something for Internal Thoughts or Non-Verbal communications by the character...Yes Colour can be used but that isn't standardised.

Indentions, though, do work
They are very easy to do as well. The bbcode for them isn't a button, you have
to enter the code directly. The code is indent and /indent.
You can embed indents within each other, too!


Just add extra indents!
This will give you multi-level indentions.
See nice and easy!


Just make sure to match all indents with /indents
and then go to town!

Doing it this way isn't the easiest, but it does work

I guess buttons to insert the table rows, headers, and cells tags could be done, but that isn't really required. I added the extra white space to make things more clear to read, but that isn't necessary. The extra white space won't persist through replies.

Now, is there a way to set a text background color?


That one I haven't figured out yet.

Yes, you've got it!

You can google for bbcodes, but I've never found a good list of codes that all work here.

I'm sorry, I am just seeing this thread.
The 'hr' is a good idea and I just implemented it. Here's a sample


This is a horizontal rule
The is after it.

This is a good idea. Do you have a suggestion on the color we could use for internal thoughts or non-verbal comms? I can set up anything.

I've been using Green - dark enough to see and different enough to distinguish.

Is there an escape character or such so that we could display bbcodes in a documentary post?

Not an escape character, but it occurs to me that we could substitute { } for [ ] when showing BBCode tags.

I have a couple of tag requests. They don't need buttons, just being available would be great! I found this on https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=405994. I don't know if this would be easy or hard to implement, but it's a suggestion.

Setting background color for selected text:
BB Usage:

Code: Select all

[bgcolor={COLOR}]{TEXT}[/bgcolor]
HTML Replace:

Code: Select all

<span style="background:{COLOR}">{TEXT}</span>
Example Use: [bgcolor=#008000]This text would have a green background.[/color]

Colors are already available as standard names and #numbers here for the color tag.
Change the font of selected text:
BB Usage:

[font={TEXT1}]{TEXT2}[/font]
HTML 4 Replace:

<font face="serif">{TEXT2}</font>
HTML 5 Replace:

The following is a list of Web Safe Fonts that might be put where TEXT1 goes:
Arial (sans-serif)
Verdana (sans-serif)
Tahoma (sans-serif)
Trebuchet MS (sans-serif)
Times New Roman (serif)
Georgia (serif)
Garamond (serif)
Courier New (monospace)
Brush Script MT (cursive)
Again, this might be easy or it might be hard, I have no idea. I think I'd make a lot of use of both these tags though, if they were available. Please consider implementing them.
