Character Creation Guidelines

#1 Post by Keehnelf »

To start, each player will need to create two characters: a Magus and a Companion.

Both should be created using the standard rules in the 5e rulebook and attribute point-buy as the method.

The Magus character should be no older than 30 at campaign start. The Companion can be any age you like, bearing in mind that you should start making Ageing rolls starting at 35 (see page 168 for the details on that) and Companions tend to decline quickly with older age compared to Magi, which offsets the gains of continued learning and practice fairly rapidly except in academic/craft-based areas.

Feel free to PM me or use OOC Chat with any questions about character creation.

If you're short on time, go ahead and prioritize making a Magus first.

There is a google sheets character sheet in the campaign resources drive--go ahead and download that and fill it out for your characters, and we can re-upload them in the characters subfolder. There can be a lot of moving parts, and while that character sheet isn't ideal, it's very straightforward to use.

I'm happy to include other types of character sheet if you find one you like, but wanted to provide one easy to use option.
