Native of Horosho, Glisten Subsector, Spinward Marches, Domain of Deneb

Born and raised in one of the four massive archologies that dominate the planet and contain the majority of it’s abundant population. Life was a strange mixture of regimentation and relaxing leisure. His youth was spent with his father Ranul, mother Sara and younger sister Beata. His parent both working in the hydroponics facility.

After the standard basic schooling Klaus at 14 was sent to test his aptitude in a number of local industries but was always found unsuitable. Too inquisitive was the most common fault they found and Klaus gradually saw his opportunities narrow with each rejection. Slowly he began to understand how the planetary government worked and that questioning was not a healthy pursuit.

Trying hard to curb his curiosity Klaus managed to stick at a menial janitorial role until he saw a pop-up recruitment stand for the Imperial Marines. Speaking to the officer in charge he was amazed that his questions were met with enthusiasm. Having spent so much time with the marine he suddenly found himself out of work again but realised this was his chance and went to sign on. Fortunately he was now 18 and the marines accepted him and shipped him to Glisten for basic training.

Following his initial training Klaus was sent to Weiss where there were a number of activist groups promoting pro Sword Worlds rhetoric and his unit was tasked with neutralising the more radical elements.

After a successful time on Weiss he was sent to the Protected Forces training school to enhance his Zero-G skills. This was rapidly followed by a stint in Commando school leaving Klaus with hopes of many interesting assignments.

His second term saw him enrolled as Commando and assigned to raiding a hostile base in District 268. A decoration for Meritorious conduct and a slight wound saw him promoted to Lance Corporal and settling into the commando role. Unfortunately that’s when the action stopped his next 2 years were spent onboard a small destroyer making routine patrols promotions came but the routine became monotonous. Thankfully in the 4th year an opportuity to cross train with the artillery came up and he gleefully accepted. Now with this aditional training surely he would get some more worthwhile assignments.

But no following his cross training he was assigned back to destroyer patrol in quiet systems, followed by a two year stint as a recruiter. This finally convinced Klaus that he had been sidelined and would never get the opportunity to see more active service that he craved.

Klaus therefore decided his best option would be to muster out and seek employment with one of the mercenary groups operating along the imperial border.
