Theo follows with the group, using his ranger training to note and remember features of the terrain along the way. Although he hopes to never have to find his way back to the swamp again.

Mid Afternoon, Cloudy, Humid, Less Buggy


Using their long foot soaking journey to distribute the spoils from the metal ship, the exhausted group is glad to finally be putting the fetid swampland behind them for good.

They press into the untamed jungle and begin heading back through the thick underbrush towards the south. They don't get far into the bush before they hear something strange up ahead.

Unable to see its source through the foliage, everyone in the group begins to hear a melodious piping tune, possibly from a flute or similar instrument. It sounds like it is coming from straight up ahead, but the higher notes of the tune seem to fill the entire area around you.

"Yes, I also hear the music. There are rumours of a grey man that wanders the jungle west of the logger's trail. His music has apparently lured children before. Let's not take any chances ..." He picks up a small rock. "Magical silence should do the trick." He casts a Silence spell on the rock, then motions for the vanguard to proceed ahead.

While two of the party members scour their pockets for.........lint???, Aliendron takes matters a bit more seriously, casting a spell of silence to fend off any dangers from the melodic, flowing tune in the air. A complete magical silence blocks out the entire concept of sound for a few moments, allowing the group to pass by the anomaly unheard and unscathed.

They hike a bit further to the south, until the spell wears off and the cacophony of the jungle suddenly blasts through your ears again, nearly deafening you a second time until you grow used to the opposite sensation.

And since you are already in the mood to experience strange new anomalies, a second one soon presents itself. By the time your ears have adjusted to the loud jungle again, a bright light suddenly flashes all around you, blinding you completely and leaving you seeing only the remains of the white flash behind your eyelids, whether open or closed.

You suddenly feel yourselves spinning around through a bright white world, unable to control your movements momentarily as you twirl around aimlessly.
