Hello. SO, though i'm new to Stars Without Number / Worlds WIthout Number - i'm planning a campaign of short/mini modules and had some ideas i need others to provide feedback on ::

Heroic level campaign, 1 free origin level per character, start at 0th level – heroic abilities, 2 foci, background [ gain class abilities at level 1 ]
though magic is the blood of the world [ potent, vital force ], obvious manifestations are rare - mostly charm, hexes, potions

Human Origin
- +1 bonus to any stat, +1 language known. bonus skill- 1 of : connect, craft, exert, perform, trade, work
Invasive species threatening stability and endangering the older species

Dwarf Origin
level1 – bonus craft or work skill, con or wis mod +1, dex or cha mod -1, darkvision 60'
level2 - +2 saves vs poison/toxin, +2 hp /level, stonecunning
Underground crafters and miners - honored trsdes are those made by hand, so they trade for everything else [ farming, hunting, ... ]
honor deals for generations

Elf Origin
level1 – bonus know or magic skill, dex or int mod +1, str mod -1, lowlight vision
level2 – bonus notice skill, cha mod +1
Reclusive arboreals
idea of communal ownership within clan, not per individual; trade in favors

Gnome Origin
level1 – bonus sneak skill, dex mod +1, str or wis mod -1, darkvision 60', small
level2 – bonus craft skill, int mod +1, tinker- bonus d6 craft to build/repair
Forest tenders with a knack for technology

Goblin Origin
level1 – bonus survive skill, dex mod +1, int mod -1, lowlight vision
level2 – bonus sneak skill, +10' move, +1 AC (speed) bonus, extra move action
Mischievous and carefree, often misunderstood by other species

Halfling
level1 – bonus sneak skill, con or dex mod+1, small
level2 – bonus connect skill, +1 bonus to all saves, 1/scene reroll 1 skill check
Pastoral hill dwellers

Dragonkin
level1 – bonus survive skill, str or cha mod +1, dex or cha mod -1, AC13
level2 – breath weapon 1/scene – 15'cone – 2d6 damage + level ( 1 of : acid, electricity, fire, frost, sonic )
Offspring or descendants of ancient wyrms

Lizardfolk
level1 – bonus swim skill, str and con mod +1, int and cha mod -1, darkvision 60'
level2 – bonus stab or punch skill, str mod +1, tail slam d6 damage
Last vestiges of dying primordial species

Catfolk
level1 – bonus sneak skill, dex mod +1
level2 – claws d6 damage shock 2/AC15 +1 at level 3, 6 9


Ravenfolk
level1 – bonus notice skill, int or wis mod +1, con mod -1
level2 – linguist, glided 30' for every 10' height
In ancient times messengers of the gods, now gretly reduced in number, curious seekers of knowledge

Bearfolk
level1 – bonus exert skill, str mod +1, dex mod -1, +1 encumbrance
level2 – 1/scene take ½ damage from a single blow, AC+1
Reclusive protectors of nature

Tortlefolk
level1 – bonus perform skill, AC13, wis mod +1
level2 – amphibious – breathe water or air, swim speed
Second oldest species, long lived and long in thought


Hybrids

Dwarran level1 – bonus exert skill, con mod +1, cha mod -1, recover +2 system strain/night
[ ½ Dwarf ] level2 - +2 encumbrance, darkvision 30'

Elfling level1 – bonus connect skill, dex mod +1, lowlight 30'
[ ½ Elf ] level2 – bonus trade skill, choose one skill per scene – gain +1 to that skill for the scene

Nephili level1 – bonus work skill, str mod +1, oversize, AC -1 ( easier to hit )
[ ½ giant ] level2 – con mod +1, first HD max, +1 encumbrance

Bugi level1 – bonus survive skill, dex mod +1, lowlight 30'
[ ½ goblin ] level2 - +10' move

Porcul level1 – bonus stab skill, con mod 1, darkvision 30'
[ ½ orc ] level2 – ignore shock damage
Children and descendants of slavery and toture

Shadowling level1 – bonus sneak skill, +2AC ( amorphous/shifting, shadows/blending ), lowlight, darkvision
level2 – prehensile tail ( no extra attack ). 1/scene 30' teleport ( shadowstep )
Of unknown origin – possibly planar travellers or deific descendants, not commonly believed to actually exist

What's the driver for starting at 0th level? As a player, I ususally prefer low to mid level starts since PbP seldom goes long enough for significant character change.

i have a couple nice 0th encounters - plus i want the PCs to start in the same area

i'm planning maybe 1 or 2 0th
then level up PCs for every 4 encounters - the bulk of which i have planned are basically one pagers
