Opening Sequence

Ok, everyone is in London, England on the morning of February 23rd, 2050. The city around you bustles with the sounds of electric street cars humming by, and people walking about on various tasks. You are in the downtown district near the mega-corporation headquarters for Thames Unlimited. Several large screens are displaying news events from around the globe as they happen. The ongoing topic by the news agency is on Reichstag's plans for building and deploying a space station mid-way between the Earth and it's moon. According to the information, the station will be launched by early next year.

Further news talks about the continued declining stability in the African continent. A Flight warning has been issued by most mega-corporations advising that all flights should maintain position as far North of the central region as possible. A commercial liner has already been lost near the border of what used to be Niger. The status of survivors is unknown at this time. The news anchor continues on with more uninteresting news events like upcoming weddings, new movies coming to theaters, etc...

My character has always been something of a loner so he probaby dosen't know anyone. He was once recruited by a smaller corp, but was released because of what they called triggered instability. since then he has been living in the streets taking whatever jobs paid to survive.

My guy has spent the last couple of years hiring on as a drive/pilot/mechanic specialist, so could have worked with anyone. You could also have known him through his dead fathers merc group he was part of up until 3 years ago when it was wiped out.

Boots

Boots is a free-lance industrial spy and hacker. Until recently he worked for the Mega-Corp Babylon, but that relationship is over. For the fun of it I will assume that he as worked with Shaidar's driver/pilot in the recent past.
