Rule additions and modeifications

#1 Post by ateno »

Number 1:

High and low statistic modifications to the rolls.

Mongoose Traveller allows bonuses or lowering of rolls due to stastic value.

Usually the roll 'to hit' is 8+, but it can be 10+ or more depending on how difficult to achieve. Unless I say otherwise its a 8+.

The one relevant statistic addition is added to the roll + skill. Also if your not sure what stat to use for a bonus, ask me. Also STR will add to damage for hth.

Table
1 -2 -2
3-5 -1
6-8 +0
9-11 +1
12-14 +2
15 +3

Number 2

Experience and skill advancement.

You will get experience point in a skill for a successful roll in a stressful situation. A gunfight, successful manning engineering while in space combat, breaking in to a computer for information.

You can get a skill point in a non-stressful situation for rolling a 12 on the die. Hiro bribes the guards, Dev persuades the lawyer, Garrett spends time filing the archeology findings and getting his papers together.

You need to earn 5 exp pts points as a base to attempt to raise a skill, +1 for each level over zero. 6 for lvl 1, or 9 for lvl 4. If your number of skill points are equal to or over you int +edu then base 10, and base 15 for equal to over your int+edux2. You may have as many lvl 0 skills as you want.

To gain the skill you must have the correct number of skill points and roll a 8+, normal bonus for player choice of Int or edu and bonus for every half (player advantage) the number of skill points accumulated over the required amount. Roll is done anytime out of game, before or after, unless in the middle of a situation in game.

If you are successful, you lose all acquired skill points (back to zero). If you are unsuccessful you lose the number of skill points equal to the level of skill you are trying to achieve.

Experience points are awarded by the GM, please remind the GM if you think you are due a skill point.
