Awesome! Congratulations, Tibbius!
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

That's great!!
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Out of curiousity, if you don't mind me asking, did you see a sales boost?

Actually, no.

Huh, that's interesting. Another question, if you don't mind: I think you sell through both itch and Drivethru. Do the itch sales make up for the decreased revenue from Drivethru for not being exclusive? I tried itch a couple of years ago but didn't have much success.

In general, more than yes - itch sales royalties are about equal in value to dtrpg in a typical month.

This may be due to my games being more "indie" than "OSR." Itch focuses toward small press, non-D&D-alike games. DTR is much more retroclone friendly.

Overall, I'm not concerned by the slow sales. I already made enough off the crappy version of the game to pay for really nice layout and art, so now I have a really pretty pdf that I couldn't have justified otherwise. I expect in the next few months I'll sell enough to more than get back what I paid Andy White (https://andyanimates.com).

That was certainly my experience. I'm not sure what the dividing line is between "OSR" and "indie", but my stuff definitely falls on the OSR side of things.

OSR = let me make it basically 1e compatible and maybe tweak this one thing about D&D that bugs me.

Indie = let me throw out most or all premises of D&D and start from scratch.

So - I actually got a substantial sales boost from the feature - enough that in the first month I nearly made back what I spent up front on the art and layout, even after my ongoing royalty to the art guy.

He says he'd rather have full cash up front next time, but I think the next couple months may change his mind!

I'm starting up a group game of Sharps over on rpg.net and running a solo game on here as well.
