No, there ain't no critical hits either. ain't life grand?onlyme wrote:is there a crit miss in this game?
A natural 20 always hits and a natural 1 always misses though, regardless of the Attack Matrices. So everyone always has at least a 5% chance to hit or miss.

Vargr, is it possible to shoot at the plant without the risk of hitting the others?

At the stem you mean? Yes, except for Malone who is engaged in melee combat with it. You'd have a lower than normal chance of hitting him because the creeper is practically static coiled around the pine tree.

Re: OCC Combat Thread
Sorry, didn't realize Malone was in the way of my crossbow shot... Lucky that Thurinor isn't as accurate as he was the last time he used it...
And by the way, vargr, is Thurinor still wrapped up by a couple vines? Am I right in thinking he wouldn't have a chance to get a magic missile off? Or did they let go last round to attack Stonjuz?

Re: OCC Combat Thread
The vines have left Thurinor, he is free to move and act. The vines aren't strong enough to hold a character anyway, they wrap themselves more by adherence that force. Any character (unless maybe he had a *really* low STR) can get free of them as a free action; it's as easy as moving.

Do we know what the heck is going on? Is she a siren luring us to be eaten by her sisters?

When arriving he will lay her on the ground, get his bow and start shooting once (and if) he's got line of sight to the approaching beasts.
Lol, can you imagine the look on the dwarf's face after coming out of casting the Protection from Evil, ready to defend himself, and the woman, only to see the ranger carrying her away.
Im glad you said it though. It gives Stonjuz a reason to get the hell outta here.
Again, I cant believe I posted that he was ready to stand defiant to at least three harpies at level 1.

DM, I just posted a backstabb-ish attack - It seemed plausible, but let me know if its not and I`ll roll a regular attack instead.

Re: OCC Combat Thread
You can't backstab in the middle of combat like that, unless you're coming out of hiding or the target is completely unaware of your presence due to some other reason. This isn't D20 with all that "no facing", "flanking" and "sneak attack commando rogues" bovine excrement.

Ah. I figured engaged in melee with someone else might translate to "unaware of my presence." No probs. I'll revise.

This is not looking good. At least if somebody dies, we can polymorph them into some random other dead thing with Stonjuz's polymorph rod... or... oh dear...Vargr1105 wrote:Some folks are getting pretty beaten up out there.
