Just saw this, still interested. What are you ruling for mercenaries? Are they available to bring into the dungeon at the standard monthly cost?

I'm thinking of making a magic-user, and blow my paltry funds on two hired bowmen plus rations for the three of us.

Starting funds = 60

2 bowmen (1 month) = 12
3 backpacks = 12
3 normal rations = 21
3 waterskins = 3
12 torches = 2
1 ropes = 2
1 dagger = 3

Leftover funds = 5

I'm using the OD&D cost, which differs a bit from DD. A crossbowman is 4 gp/month, a longbowman is 10 gp/month. Advertising costs 1d6 x 100 gp/week. I guess I might just start you off with some mercs if there are sufficiently few players.

Got it. In that case I'll probably try to reserve most of my money, so that I can start advertising as quickly as possible.

Pardon my tardiness! I will play a cleric, I think. Should be able to get my gear sorted tonight.

How should I go about selecting my starting MU spell(s)?

OD&D does not say, so I will use the Delving Deeper rules: you get all the 1st-level spells in your spellbook (!)

I'm lagging horribly, but here's my cleric! At least the bare bones so far. The forecast calls for rain the next couple days, so I may actually get to sneak some time with DD and finish it up.

Sorry to cut it off so soon, but I should probably call this game. I'm overcommitted elsewhere, and frustrated with the pbp medium.

Fair enough, good luck elsewhere!

Admin Note:
This can be undone, but I did go ahead and move this game to the 'Completed Games' section.
