Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Are we actually under attack or did the two that went off to explore the last bit of tunnel leading back to the main tunnel just roll up some at the ready bow shots?
Re: Chapter One: Arrival
The ones who went ahead (Bingo, Thir, and Shade) are being attacked. The ghouls had a chance at surprise but the group of players were NOT surprised so they have all moved into initiative phase for combat. Everyone else may move this round and be in combat the next round (Round 2).Ahlmzhad wrote:Are we actually under attack or did the two that went off to explore the last bit of tunnel leading back to the main tunnel just roll up some at the ready bow shots?
Round 1
07. Ghouls
04. Bingo Short Sword +1 [1d20+2] = 15+2 = 17 to hit [1d6+4] = 5+4 = 9 damage
03. Thir Warhammer: to-hit [1d20] = 4, dmg [1d4+1] = 1+1 = 2
03. Shade [1d20+3] = 3+3 = 6 First arrow [1d20+3] = 1+3 = 4 Second arrow
The first ghoul lunches from around the corner, swiping its claws at Bingo ((Ghoul #1: Attack - [1d20] = 7 Damage - [1d3] = 1 Attack - [1d20] = 4 Damage - [1d3] = 2)) but the halfling quickly ducks under the monsters reach. It then tries to bite Bingo ((Ghoul #1: Attack - [1d20] = 10 Damage - [1d6] = 5)) but is no more successful that way than with its claws.
The second ghoul uses the first to push forward into the group and swipes its claws at Thir ((Ghoul #2: Attack - [1d20] = 19 Damage - [1d3] = 2 Attack - [1d20] = 16 Damage - [1d3] = 3)), dragging its foul, fetid nails into the dwarf ((hits AC0 and AC3 respectively; take 5 points of damage and need 2 separate saves vs. Paralyzation.)) It then attempts to take a bite out of the embattled dwarf but Thir is able to get his shield up in time to deflect the attack.
Bingo strikes in an upward fashion from his position, slicing into the horrid ghoul. The repugnant creature falls to the side, dead once more. Thir either does or does not swing his warhammer based on whether he succeeds against both Paralyzation attacks. Regardless, his attack does not hit. Shade fires his bow at the ghoul before him, however his first arrow flies wide of the attended recipient and sails over Bingo's head. Shade attempts to fire off his second arrow only to have his bow string snap.
Round 2
07. Ghouls
04. Bingo
04. Jardin
03. Thir
03. Shade
Jardin has been added to the initiative order. Anyone else who cares to join in the combat against the last remaining ghoul, please give me Initiative and action rolls.

The young man will move up towards the Ghoul. Glad one has gone down, and be ready to either hit it with his quarterstaff, or throw a dagger if he can't get in melee.
Initiative: [1d10] = 2
Quarterstaff: [1d20] = 8
Damage: [1d6] = 1
Dagger: [1d20+4] = 19+4 = 23
Damage: [1d4] = 3

Round 2
07. Ghoul
04. Bingo Short Sword +1 [1d20+2] = 11+2 = 13 to hit [1d6+4] = 5+4 = 9 damage
04. Jardin Mace Attack (18) [1d20] = 4 Mace Damage (S/M) [1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3 (L) [1d6] = 3
03. Thir Warhammer: to-hit [1d20] = 18, dmg [1d4+1] = 3+1 = 4
03. Shade [1d20+3] = 10+3 = 13 Arrow 1 [1d6] = 6 arrow damage[1d20+3] = 7+3 = 10 Arrow 2 Miss
02. Aelfred Dagger: [1d20+4] = 19+4 = 23 Damage: [1d4] = 3
The remaining ghoul hesitates a moment ((Morale: [1d20] = 5)) before it seems the gleam in its eye hardens and it lashes out again at Thir, obviously the pious dwarf has enraged the foul undead creature.
Claw 1: Attack [1d20] = 10 Damage [1d3] = 2 Claw 2: Attack [1d20] = 7 Damage [1d3] = 2
Bite: Attack [1d20] = 3 damage [1d6] = 2
But for all its fury, it is unable to touch the dwarf.
Bingo turns from the still form of the ghoul which attacked him, slicing into the ghoul attacking Thir and leaving a mightly slash across the ghoul's lower torso. Jardin arrives swinging his mace but the ghoul is able to avoid the implement of warfare only to turn into Thir's strike with the warhammer. The blow cracks the ghoul's skull and the creature falls to the ground unmoving.
Shade - though we didn't get to you in combat, your bow string snapped in the previous round. You have to restring your bow before you can use it again.

Bingo
Bingo will search around and see if they had anything valuable or if there is a lair nearby.

Shade
Shade will fall back and restring his bow. Digs into his belt pouch for another string and restrings it.
Will probably take 2 rounds to do this.

Retrieves his dagger and then watches for any new threats coming towards the party quarterstaff in hand.

Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Jardin will look over the group for any major injuries - conserving his last healing prayer for an emergency.
Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Thir
Seeing that nobody else was injured by the ghouls, he turns his attention to his wounds, eying the filthy claws of the undead monster.
He casts CLW on himself:
CLW [1d8] = 1
"I have another healing spell if we need it. At least we don't have to worry about these thing again"

Shade finishes restringing his bow and looks around.

Re: Chapter One: Arrival
OOC- The room with the secret entrance just west of the pillar room would probably be best since it only has one secret entrance so One guard could do it.
