Samuel Linkletter, Mercutio Routledge, Josephine Baxter-Smith, Jacques Bonnet & Remy Hernandez in hills near Company Town
Cycle 1063 (Winter): Day 1: Shift 3: Hour 6:50 [Hamlet of Gwynedd: 45N,25W]

Jacques searched for additional “holes”. Several times he thought he might have found one, only to discover a natural cleft in the rock or an unusual patch of color in an otherwise unmovable rock.

[Does anyone else want to try something, or are we ready to head back to town for sleep and a fresh start searching for more clues in the “morning”? … As much as anything I am looking for a ‘role call’ of who is still among us so I know when to wait for posters or to just respond.]

I'm still in, but I'm stumped about what to do next. I'm certain that there must be some way to get that door open, but I have no idea how. Maybe this is one of those things where PC knowledge would outstrip player knowledge.

Or maybe I'm just being stubborn!

An idea finally occurs to Mercutio, like inspiration from a higher power. "Perhaps, just maybe, this is a job that requires a specialist. Isn't there a mason in town we could talk to?"

I'm still here, Doc Linkletter doesn't have much to contribute to the current conundrum. He really isn't very knowledgeable about land lubber stuff like masonry...

Jo

I fear I'm stuck. My only thought is that we may be able to open the door with the proper application of magnetism. But, since we only have the one magnet with us, I'll need to go back into town before I can test the theory.

"Then let's go back into town, shall we?" suggests Mac. "We seem to have hit a literal and figurative dead end here."

The group returned to town with their machine after a 15-hour Day and chose a hot bath, a hot meal and a warm bed … resolving to make a fresh start early on Day 2.
