Character Creation Thread

Alright, I've decided on -4 to Intelligence to gain +2 to Strength. Now every ability is a thoroughly adequate 10-12.

I've used the better halfling saving throws from Expert, and bought equipment from the Basic book. Everything should be ready, so I've posted him to the thread.

I don't have the B/X rulebook; is it OK if I use the LL equipment list?

I think I'll lower my Wis by 4 points to get +2 Dex...so I now have 7 Wis and 18 Dex

LL equipment lost is fine. There are some differences, like plate armor costing 90 gp in BX versus 450 in LL. But I don’t remember all of the differences and they may not matter.

I’d have to check, but I don’t think the point swap system can lower a score below 9.

You are right about the point swap––my mistake. Wis 9 and Dex 17, then.

[3d6] = 11 * 10 = 110 gp.
Leather armor (+15 lb., 6 gp)
Dagger (+1 lb., 3 gp)
Shortsword (+2 lb., 7 gp)
Longbow + quiver/20 arrows (+6 lb., 45 gp)
Backpack (+2 lb., 2 gp)
Lock (+1 lb., 20 gp)
12 iron spikes (+8 lb., 1 gp)
Total: 35 lb., -84 gp (leaving 26 = 2.6 lb.) so total weight is 37.6 lb.

[edit: some differences with B/X. I'll recalculate:
leather armor: gp 20, weight 200
dagger: gp 3, weight 10
shortsword: gp 7, weight 30
javelin: gp 1, weight 20
backpack: gp 5, weight ?
mirror: gp 5, weight ?
backpack: gp 5, weight ?
total: gp 110 minus 41 = 69, weight 260? + 69 = 329]
