Recruiting for off-site games

#1 Post by ffilz »

I just wanted to clarify what is acceptable to recruit for in Looking for players or games. I run some play by posts on other forums and a live game on Roll20. Recruiting here for those games might help boost them, but I don't want to dilute the offerings here (not that I'm going to abandon gaming here, there are too many good players here).

Thanks

Frank

I think it's ok to recruit here for other boards, as long as those other boards allow the reverse from time to time. We're all just trying to play some (mostly) D&D.

Also, don't abuse the privilege.

Fair enough. I'm actually most interested in recruiting for live play, would love to have more players for my RuneQuest campaign.

Honestly, if my odd74 play by post games end up fizzling out, I'd just start new ones here... Though it would be nice to make sure they keep going.

I'm always more than happy to point folks here though (and actually odd74 may start to encourage new PbP games to come here, in which case cross pollination from here would be nice).

Yeah, I probably should have run this question past the boss myself, as I've been promoting a live game not run on this site quite a bit the last week or so. So, this affirmation is good to hear:

I think the key is, if you're a member of this forum, to use your membership for actually gaming here, and not just to promote activity elsewhere. Any time the posts of a user (myself included) start to shift more in the opposite direction than intended, that's when there may be a potential issue.
