How to find a lost thread?

#1 Post by Bluehorse »

Yeah, I am not sure what I have done, but I thought I moved one of my threads to the Mission Archive on my Ghostbusters Thread, but I have lost it all together. Is there a way to find it? I have been looking all over my game and had no luck. If you need it, the name should be "Lionel's Run: not to be confused with the 1976 movie"

Definitely don't see it in the Mod Logs... which is weird, I thought that tracked thread moves.
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

It tracks deletions too, if that's any consolation. :)

In the logs, I see where you locked the topic on 7/22 at 10:30 a.m. I see where one or multiple topics was moved (it doesn't say what topics were moved) from Ghostbuster's RPG folder to Mission Archive.

But I don't see the topic in either folder. And I don't see any delete action that may have removed it.

Found it.

Or, rather, I found out why it is not there...

I assume there was some discussion between you two around that time?

I was starting to panic.
Thanks for finding this, Ron.

I do remember being nervous performing that action... but I also specifically remember also seeing the original thread still there -- either in the Topics or Annoucements.

It's not there now, though.

There are definitely no other logs of that screen being deleted.

No logs of it being edited, either, which is how it would show if the name was changed... or maybe it would show the new page name being edited? That's the only other thing I could think of, that the name was changed. That's easy to determine, though, because the very first post will show the new name (that's how you change a thread's title, by modifying the title of the first post in that thread) but all posts after that will show the old name unless someone goes into each one and manually changes them.

I'm afraid I don't see any trace of it. Searching "Lionel" via normal search or using it as a keyword in the Moderator Logs returns nothing (well, there are a few references to Lionel in search).

The tread itself, however, does appear to be lost. :(
