Silas A. Corvus: Expert Technician (HP: 5) (AC: 13)
Action/Status: Stands Guard

Silas continues to stand guard while the medics do their thing. He keeps his tension at peak, tracking any sound or movement. He tries hard not to think about the L’Hoi, now injured and lying on the ground, whom he shot inadvertently. He will make it up to that particular L’Hoi if he can, and to their tribe as well. His morals dictate it, and Eli, if she knew or found out, and he would tell her one day, would be devastated that the L’Hoi was accidentally shot, and by her father no less. He didn’t think she would hold it against him…

The mewing noises break Silas from his thoughts and back to the ever-so-real reality of the present. Realizing also Dax’s tension, he eases his own a little and offers, “I’m with you Dax, Tatiana. Perhaps between the three of us, we might manage to defend the others.” Silas steadies his hands and focuses on the mewing and any sign of movement. He won’t shoot unless he knows it’s an enemy he is taking aim upon.

The mewing sound in the jungle undergrowth gradually gets quieter and then stops altogether.
The remaining L'Hoi warriors gather quietly around the shaman and watch as the healing takes effect and he sits up coughing.
The warriors respond by hooting and banging their spears on the ground.
They help the shaman to his feet.
He looks over and beckons you to follow them back into the jungle.
They move slowly through the foliage and disappear from view.

Worried by Wei's message, false alarm or no, Lloyd combats his worry at one of the weapons control panels where his hands glide over the controls, checking alignments and power levels.

They'll be fine. Pretty soon be back in the cockpit laughing and on to their next adventure, right? They'd been in scrapes worse than the likes of a jungle hike before.

There was a beeping that confirmed that everything was ship shape, but Lloyd didn't hear it, instead continuing to press the confirm button on the module. It beeped twice more before he finally realized what he was hearing and stopped his button mashing a tad sheepishly. The smile that came to his face was tinged with worry, but mostly he was just glad none of the crew was there to make a quip about him being deaf.

Silas A. Corvus: Expert Technician (HP: 5) (AC: 13)
Action/Status: Falls in Line & Follows the L'Hoi

Silas gives a quiet sigh to himself, relieved that the L'Hoi survived his bungled laser pistol shot. "Thank both for helping the wounded L'Hoi. If he had died..." Silas trails off, in the middle of thanking Tatiana and Nikolai. "Thank you. I owe you both, and the L'Hoi," he says before holstering his laser pistol and falling in line behind the L'Hoi.

He tries not the think of the L'Hoi he injured, but then realizes, in one sense, they did save his life, in a round about way he guessed. I'm sure their life is hard, though everyone's is to one degree or another. But living in this way, in the jungle, native, they still have rules, laws perhaps, an order to things, a sort of government, and perhaps some form of love, or duty. Perhaps it's no different than the reality I know back home. Who am I to judge their reality, Silas thinks to himself. "peaceful...chaotic...their normal, or just a normal" he mumbles to himself as he pushes his way through the foliage.

Wei rises to a standing position, exhaling with a slight rasp. He crosses his arms in recognition of the tacit absolution granted to the crew by the L'Hoi.

To the (ever suspect) communicator, he says, "Persephone, this is Wei. The matter has resolved and we are approaching the L'Hoi village. Over and out."

He looks at each member of the team and says, very deliberately, "Thanks to our efforts, the beast is subdued. The shaman lives. We are honored guests among our hosts. There is no need for anyone to feel guilt over how events have transpired."

Before following the L'Hoi, he places his left hand on the face of the mauled L'Hoi warrior. Wei recalls the words of the Old Sage: People are born gentle and fragile. They die stiff and tough. All things, even plants and trees, are born tender and crisp. They die dried and withered.

Dax: Chaos and Beat-downs (HP: 7) (AC: 17)
Action/Status: Keeping a dubious eye...

Dax lowers her gun as the L'Hoi move to the jungle's edge, looking dubious as the mewling stops shortly after. She remains ready, gun out, as she follows them into the jungle ahead of her companions. "Frackin' lizards... Throwing maidens into volcanoes... This is all a mess," she mutters, making sure she looks for the source of the mewling as they move through.
