Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
Alordan vainly attempts to recover his strength with a counter attack:
Long sword attack (Normal;) [1d20] = 12 (THACO=20)
Long sword (Normal; +3 Str Damage) - damage [1d8+3] = 3+3 = 6; 6 - 2 str drain = 4
Muttering to himself, "...stick to the bow... stupid sword..." would be overheard by anyone near.

See, apparently the ancient physicians knew best. There is nothing like a good bleeding to cure what ails you.

Gwillt pulls his scimitar from shoulder of the dead troglodyte, where it had lodged into something solid, and quickly scans the area to see where he can move next. With his focus limited to his immediate surroundings, Gwillt does not see the stranger fighting overwhelming numbers on the opposite side of the entangled area. He does, however, see the kid and the knight, both sickened by the stench of the lizard creatures, fighting a healthy-looking trog just to his left, in front of the Sleeping Dragon.
He rushes over to help them, if possible.
To Hit, Scimitar [1d20+4] = 14+4 = 18
Damage, Scimitar [1d8+3] = 7+3 = 10

Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
Here is Strom's attack from the last round. Lets see if he can hit anything!
Strom is becoming increasingly frustrated with the weakness that has robbed him of his strength. The thought that countless hours of training have been negated by a foul smell leave the paladin quivering with rage.
Attack:
[1d20] = 19
Dmg:
[1d8+1] = 6+1 = 7
The extra adrenaline helped Strom make up for his lack of strength.

DM - have assumed my entire action will be moving this round - will attack if possible so let me know if you need a roll
Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
Can you also post your action for the current round?Computer +1 wrote:Here is Strom's attack from the last round. Lets see if he can hit anything!
If in doubt, always assume that you can do something, so go ahead and include any rolls. Worst case, we end up not using them.saalaria wrote:DM - have assumed my entire action will be moving this round - will attack if possible so let me know if you need a roll

Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
While heading south to shoot at a10, Shannigans will loose the above arrow at sc1 instead, but only if it exposes itself, away from Strom and towards our halfling.
Seems like a natural reaction

Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
Sc1 has been in melee with Strom and Ewell for at least two rounds now, as indicated in the last round, when someone tried to range sc1. Gwillt is joining them this round. Please don't fire into melee.Stonjuz wrote:While heading south to shoot at a10, Shannigans will loose the above arrow at sc1 instead, but only if it exposes itself, away from Strom and towards our halfling.

Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
I tried to convy the idea that i wasn't firing into melee unless the secondary target (sc1) got OUT of melee and started heading towards me. (dmw's call of course, but things could happen to let that take place, Strom could fall and the trog could advance, or the trog could surrender a flank just to get to me - im bitesize)
But the entangled trog is still the primary target.

Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
Strom moves quickly further South to continue to engage the remaining Trogs.
Heartened by his last successful attack be strikes at the first enemy he comes across:
Attack:
[1d20] = 19
Dmg:
[1d8+1] = 4+1 = 5

Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
Garth regains his wits in a bit.
Assuming Garth can wade into the entangled area without penalty....
He will move to attack the lone trog still trapped.
[1d20+1] = 10+1 = 11 to hit - no modifiers
[1d8] = 5 damage

Round 6
Amazingly, the swamp beasts continue their trend of acting before the party (sorry!).
The first, (a3), keeps its focus on Alordan, catching him with a claw (-2). The frustrated ranger is unable to exact revenge. "...stick to the bow... stupid sword..." he mutters aloud. Theora is equally unsuccessful.
The last remaining entangled troglodyte (a10) is finally able to free itself and begins moving north. Shannigans, hoping, but unable to target the beast engaged with Strom and Ewell, is able to fire off a shot and stick the now-moving foe before it reaches Garth. Gwilt, originally intending on helping the kid and the knight, notices this troglodyte advancing upon the recently risen elf and, with a well placed slash, manages to drop the lizard creature before it can do any harm.
Strom continues to draw the attention of the troglodyte he struck last round (sc1), and apparently he angered the scaly beast because it is able to catch the knight with a claw (-1) and a bite (-5). Fighting off the heavy wounds, the devout warrior is able to successfully strike again, heavily marking the lizard creature. Ewell is unsuccessful in his attempt to finish the creature off.
Kaltar, having spent his last action healing the fallen elf, happens to notice the lone, unknown warrior taking on a trio of the foul creatures south of the stream. He begins to rush to the aid of this stranger, making it to the far southeast corner of the entangled area.
Epislon, too weak for melee, carefully advances as close as he can to inspect the fallen farmers to see if any might be spared of the afterlife. He suspects, after a cursory examination, that those in his immediate area, including the twins, are beyond hope.
South of the stream, the olive-skinned fighter continues to battle three troglodytes on his own. Amazingly, he appears to escape harm from all nine attacks and can actually be seen striking down the lizard creature that managed to bit him most recently (a9).

Someone please roll initiative, and everyone please declare all actions for round seven and make all necessary rolls.

Kaltar moves up and enters combat with a hefty swipe of his mace:
Mace Action To Hit [1d20] = 12 Dam [1d6+1] = 2+1 = 3

Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
Initiative [1d10] = 6
Gwillt, having dispatched the trog that charged after Garth, turns again to aid Strom and Ewell in their fight. But as he does so, he notes the other ranger struggling with his fight and, instead, spins to aid him...
(Attacking a3)
To Hit, Scimitar [1d20+4] = 11+4 = 15
Damage, Scimitar [1d8+3] = 5+3 = 8

Round 7
Actually, the remaining troglodytes are looking to flee.dmw71 wrote:Someone please roll initiative, and everyone please declare all actions for round seven and make all necessary rolls.
Escape routes:
a3 attempts to escape north
sc1 attempts to escape to the east (into town)
a5 and l2 attempt to escape west
The following are the only possible melee attacks possible this round (all at +2):
1) Alordan and Theora on a3
2) Ewell and Strom on sc1 (if it survives, it will avoid Shannigans)
3) The olive-skinned warrior south of the stream will also be entitled on a swing each on a5 and l2.
Anyone with ranged weapons can feel to specify a target/group and make their rolls as well.
P.S. Alethan and saalaria, sorry, you were too quick to respond. Ethan, I will obviously allow you to change your action to ranged attacks if you so desire.
