ACTION thread TOP

#1 Post by rredmond »

Action threads will be for the called actions. Once you have decided what your character will do, you post in the appropriate action threads. I'll post the enemy or otherwise actions, and results thereof as appropriate.

Have fun!
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

This thread will be for the SOPs, whatever the party may want can go here. I'll update the first post as needed. Marching order is definitely one thing, but if there's anything else y'all want that will streamline play, let me know. First discussion... Marching Order(s) -

Outdoors:
Single file: Till, Jeloon, Yosef, Bruard
Double/otherwise: Jeloon and Till, then Yosef and Bruard

Indoors: (5' hallways or less have to be single file to attack/defend)
Single file: Till, Jeloon, Yosef, Bruard
Double/otherwise: Till and Jeloon, then Yosef and Bruard

Well, it is convenient that there are eight of us.

I say we set up four watches of two people for two hours. Only Yosef might have to worry about having a longer cycle of uninterrupted sleep (per his spells - just depends on how Ron handles that), so we can give him either the earliest shift or the latest shift.

Ron, what kind of rule do you have for sleeping in armour? Plate and chain are probably out... what about leather/studded leather? Allowed or not?

Finally, I think we should set it up so we have one hireling with one main party member for each shift. So something like this:

First Shift - Till and Ancor
Second Shift - Jeloon and Eyman
Third Shift - Bruard and Rosin
Forth Shift - Yosef and Van

Spells not cast are still burned in the caster's memory - no need to relearn. Spells cast we'll follow the 15 mins/level/spell rule. Everyone requires 4 hours of rest to function the next day, casters need 4 in a row to relearn spells, and you can only sleep in leather, no studded leather or higher.

+1 Looks good here as well, Alethan! I like having at least one PC per shift. That rotation should allow both Yosef and Bruard plenty of rest to recover spells and still get the minimum sleep/day.

Edit: grammar!

Here's my idea for
Fighting Formation

Van | Eyman
Jeloon | Yosef
Till | Bruard
Ancor | Rosin

Does that look ok to everyone?

Do you mean for the current situation (on a path, with limited left/right movement)? Or... just when possible? I'm afraid the bad guys won't always line up in front of us. :(

Till is short and wielding a sword - not sure he'd be able to attack from the second rank. When possible, his general course of action is to try and be sneaky and attack from behind. I'm not quite sure yet how he'll handle straight-up confrontation.

Just for when it makes sense. I was mostly thinking of dungeon corridors. I think the area we're in now is two wide (12'?) for two to command. Good point about Till's height, I forgot about that.. heh.
