Seven already plenty busy makes sure to shout out to Zeke "They're flanking! Hurry up with your ghoul ball and get your ass back here!"

Two ghouls go down as Seven manages to use the shotgun's wide bullet spread to his advantage. The ghouls try to break into the bunker that Seven activated moments ago, but their arms can only reach so far in before they are physically stopped.

The last of the ghouls trying to break past Zeke end up breaking in the process, having been flung backward by another table swing. A beeping sound can be heard inside the power armor frame currently being used by Zeke. The fuel gauge has been taking some drops with every swing, and you figure you have about half a core left before the strenuous activity becomes a no-go.

6 ghouls remain and they are focused on trying to break into Seven's mini bunker. Zeke figures that he has at least 4 more swings left in the power armor. After that, you can only walk in it.

Zeke pivots toward the other side of the room, taking a swing at the ghouls trying to break into Seven's cozy little hideaway.

With Seven and Zeke's shotgun baseball match nearing its end, only one ghoul remains standing.

[1d20] = 11

The ghoul lunges at Zeke, but finds that its attack just slides right off the power armor frame.

Sorry for the delayed post, guys. Was distracted and focused on other things past couple of days.

Zeke drops the table and hits the remaining ghoul the old-fashioned way, with his fist.

Might as well conserve energy on this last one.

Seven stands back out of arms reach and reloads his shotgun. Taking aim and firing only if any more ghouls remain. [1d20] = 12

No more ghouls remain standing after Zeke gives a hefty punch, sending the last ghoul flying to a nearby wall. Silence returns once more, but for how long, you do not know.

Zeke checks the power level of the armor.

Let's see what was in that room where all the ghouls came from. I think I've got enough juice to cover us if more show up and we need to run to the elevator.

After that, we may need to find a hot spot and let the fusion core cook a little until it's recharged.

Going back into the room that had all of those sleeping ghouls, you find that it is much emptier, safer to look through at a glance.
vault lab area.jpg
vault lab area.jpg (355.37 KiB) Viewed 698 times
Room 10 does, in fact, connect with room 16.

This portion of the vault looks like a containment center for test subjects and failed projects. Lots of shattered glass litter the floors around various vat tank holding cells and air-tight rooms with ventilation systems running through them. Various operating tables can be found near elaborate collections of computer terminals and laboratory equipment. The room in itself is large and expansive, but only appears that way because of the many doors found lining the walls. Towards the back of the room are another elevator and a door marked as an emergency fire exit.

A sign hangs next to the elevator describing the remaining floors of the facility. The floor you are on is self-explanatory, the next floor down appears to be the living quarters for all vault occupants, both scientists and test subjects alike. The final floor is comprised of a maintenance wing and a reactor room, most of the vault's important life-sustaining utilities and functions can be found here (Water filtration and pump systems, Oxygen purifying and generating equipment, etc.)

Zeke turns to Seven.

I guess at this point, we might as well leave and go rescue the Doc. Once we get him back, we can clear the first floor of this place, set the Doc up here or take him back to the settlement, and then go downstairs and sweep the rest of the Vault.

The repairs made to the elevator were hasty and just good enough to keep everything together. You doubt that the venture back up would be any smoother. If Zeke wants to take the heavy power armor frame with him, Seven or he will have to use the elevator separately, one at a time, so as to not put any unnecessary strain on the elevator cables.

If you can think of another way to make the elevator safer to use, go ahead and suggest it and roll the d20.

Zeke pulls out the fusion core and leaves the power armor frame at the bottom of the elevator shaft.

No point in taking this with us. The core will run out soon.

Assuming Seven is ready to go, the pair enter the elevator and head up.

Seven gives Zeke a strange look "Then why'd I assemble that damned fusion core charger and give it to you? Just so you can leave your darned power armor frame here? After all we just went through? You've got to be kidding me." said with tones of frustration in his voice though jokingly at the same time. "Of course I'm ready to leave a ghoul infested vault. Don't gotta ask me twice. Like asking if I like the company of pretty women."

Zeke says, I'm kind of afraid to use the charger. It has to be in a radioactive area but that means I have to sit in the suit in a radioactive area while it charges. I don't want to be soaking up all those rads. But if you think I should bring it, I will.
