Hradian and Wharram Percy are distant cousins.

Perhaps they grew up in the same city (Port Brax?), and spent time together (probably frowned on my Wharram's father), and that is where he picked up his stealth and acrobatic skills from.

Yeah Port Brax. If I recall, we made some news parkour'ing across the buildings there. But the real problem was an angry Thieves Guild...

Wharram and Vicente are cousins who stand to inherit from their family equally.

I would imagine a uncle (or aunt) on Wharrams Algosian side of the family married into Vicente's family. As a merchant family, maybe they were stationed in Karok for a while and decided to stay.

I'm happy with this idea. How about it being an uncle? Would Wharram have spent any significant time with this branch of the family while they lived in Karok? I'm willing to bet that if they had then Vicente would have some memories of childhood mischief that the two of them may have gotten into together. Or, perhaps, they mostly met during stuffy formal family gatherings filled with polite conversations? I can imagine a Downton Abby-esque party where Vicente's mother istructs the eight year old boy, "...be polite to the boy, for Aunt Felica's sake. The poor dear." What do you think? This helps establish if our characters see each other as allies, or competitors at the beginning of the game. I'm leaning more towards wary allies, and the stuffy family gatherings myself, but not too attached to the idea. Vicente would be in line to inherit something since he actually treated Aunt Felica and her husband, as family instead of 'different.' What do you think?

Vicente and Hradian are friends with a mutual friend.

What sort of friend do you think would bind the two of us? A preferred shopkeeper perhaps? Maybe a cousin of Vicente's fell into hard times while helping to sail a merchant ship between our two cities, or tried to 'save' Hradian from the bottle? How Medici do you want to go?
