Brother Canis "Great Job, young Hantae! It is difficult to catch deer with a mace!" he holds up his own by example and chuckles.

Hidden Fields in the Forest

After the minor deer hunt by Hantae the deer is loaded into the cart/wagon and the party proceeds onwards. The old road continues through the field, it's quite lovely actually when everyone thinks about it and looks around as they move. The road veers back to the north after a bit of a trek. Day is passing fairly well stomachs start to growl as it nears closer to noon. the field narrows a bit and the forest turns more into a softer wooded forest once more less of the hardwood trees are seen as the area now is more dominated by the green pines and other such trees. It is at this point that the group notices a small building most likely an old guard house for the North Vale mansion. The old stone building has a set of old stone steps covered in moss and vines there are ferns growing up around the building. Perhaps this would be a good place to stop and have a mid day meal?

Rukiel the Fickle

"Ahhh! A guard tower! We must be getting close to the mansion! Come on everyone!" Rukiel can barely keep the excitement in his voice contained. After having trekked for so long, and seeing only greenery, a spot of constructed stone is doing wonders for his imagination. Rukiel rushes full speed to the tower and looking over his shoulder every now and then beckoning them to follow. Upon reaching the entrance, he peeks inside, a hand on resting on the hilt of his club for good measure.

Rician Lockwindberg - Paladin - Banded Mail AC 4 + Stone Warden Shield (+2): AC 2 - HP: 27 /27:

Rician did not sense any evil as he approached so he peaked inside the apparent old guard house, through a window which is quite dusty and cobweb covered however,
he can't really see much out aside of darkness.

For all the looks of it the place has been quite abandoned for some time.

Rukiel exits the tower, brushing webs off of his shoulders and head. "It's just as empty as it looks. If there be monsters or treasure, they are hidden well. The door is rotted though, won't put up much of a defense against a good bashing." With a hint of disappointment trailing in his previous comment, Rukiel mentions that he will head back inside for a more thorough search of the place. If nothing is to be found, he will help carry the venison over for some cooking.

Rician Lockwindberg - Paladin - Banded Mail AC 4 + Stone Warden Shield (+2): AC 2 - HP: 27 /27:

After seeing nothing through a window and then seeing Rukiel, enter, he moves to the doorway ready to spring if Rukiel called for help.

Rukiel comes back out saying it's as empty as it looks and says he'll go back in for a more thorough search. Rician follows him inside to do the same, provided there is just enought sunlight streaming inside. If not he asks for a torch first.

Sent individual PM's however I'll just post the contents within the guard house.

Guard House: Searches
Within the guard house is a large wood table with bench style seats made of hardwood and appears well preserved likely it was coated with protective oils compared to the partially rotted door. There are cupboards and stone counters, a cook stove that appears operable though it might need some wood. Upstairs are straw cots that appear to have mice nests within them all. There are a few sturdy looking wooden chairs that might be comfy to sit in. All in all it is not a bad place to setup a small camp in or even just take a quick meal break in however sleep might be shared with the vermin within. Other than that the place is a bit dusty hasn't seen two legged folk in a while mostly just the four legged wildlife and spiders as the webs are strewn here and there. fully searching both inside and outside the building there is a firewood storage box around one side of the place outback as Hantae informed is an old outhouse moss and vine covered mushrooms growing out of the waste hole. Nothing for tracks save for the wild life squirrels, raccoons, skunks and other common animal tracks nothing from a human or humanoid is found other than that they used to use the place.

Rukiel the Fickle

"If this be a dragon's lair," Rukiel looks over at Krakus with a childish smile, "then it looks like we will need only one man for the job... or woman even." Rukiel ends in a quick fancy bow towards Hantae.

Secure in the knowledge that this place is safe for a quick meal and respite, Rukiel heads back to the horse and cart and brings it to the front entrance and ties the cart and horse accordingly. He will the help unload the deer and bring it into the watch tower's kitchen for proper preparations.

Not one for getting his hands dirty with animal gobbley-gook, he lets someone else prepare the venison. Rukiel chooses a sturdy, yet comfy chair and makes himself at home. "Wake me up when the meal's ready."

Hantae searches around, looking for anything hidden then settles in to making dinner and dealing with the deer.
