David will be wearing the recording glasses the entire time they are in town if they can pass as standard glasses. As the group encounter anything in the way of military forces, he will record, then send via micro communicator, what they observe. This would include once with the mechs in the distance as they headed toward the complex, and again viewing the mechs inside the large warehouse as they passed it.

Sorry for the delayed posting, should be back to normal.
Let me know if the glasses can do 2 minutes total, or 2 minutes at a time like I did here.
Also, I assumed the communications are encrypted, so let me know if not.

In general Zeke will start out trying to find out what kind of mining equipment is in demand and then try to steer the conversation to what other kinds of equipment seems to be in demand. He'll avoid outright asking about military equipment but will certainly inquire about repair and maintenance as well as other "duel-use" equipment.

I am going to make a social roll for you

[3d6c1] = 9

You speak with him for a while and for the most part it's boring information that doesn't much help you. He seems to be very knowledgable on mining equipment but never brings up military equipment.

In the course of chitchat you do catch him mention that the military unit on planet calls themselves the 2nd battalion of the 31st marik militia. he lets out that they are paying the company handsomely for the use of their facilities in their northern and eastern plant warehouses.

After the meeting you shake hands and give him a business card and agree to call him with prices.

Your group leaves the facility again on the way out passing by various mechs that seem to be stationed on the grounds.

As you leave the company facilities suddenly the music playing on the radio is interrupted.

We interrupt with a news update. Just minutes ago Hans Davion declared war on the Capellan Confederation.
While making his toast to his new bride the Federated Suns prince declared "and for your wedding gift my dear I give you the capelan Confederation".

Free World sources have reported that just prior this declaration Federated Suns Forces launched coordinated assaults against numerous Capellan Confederation worlds. We will update further as we gain more information.

The 3 of you return to the city and eat. You get a hotel room and discuss your findings until the designated contact time.

Zeke listens to the announcement trying to figure out the implications. "Mother of mercy," he breaths softly. "David, Ivan, thoughts?"

Time passes it is 23:00 local times
check in at 23:00 local.

Communication protocol is as follows. Sarge, or his designee, calls me. Lets it ring twice, then hangs up and waits for a return call. If you don't get the call back in 10 minutes, call Hart.

Hart returns your call.

The LT got a job working midnights, I found out from one of the infantry grunts that it's just the 2nd battalion of the 31st on planet.

Yeah it's all over the news. Looks like the inner sphere is back at war

Ivan "Do you think this will effect our plans on this mission Hart?" after his final question about the news broadcast the Russian fills in Hart fully on the meeting the three of them had. "Suggested actions for us going forward based on the recent news or did the LT say?"

Well the assault was on the capellans not here in the free worlds league so the LT doesn't see any reason to abandon our mission. continue on as planned.

When prompted for intel, David shares information regarding what he has already documented. "I've shot about 30 seconds of video so far, but we have some good video here of various Militia mechs at the North Plant. I'll make sure to leave about the last 30 seconds unrecorded so we can provide any verbal intelligence we gather before sending to HQ, like that confirmation regarding the forces Hart got from that infantry grunt. Remember we only get the single 2 minute burst transmission to HQ, so that leaves about a minute a recording time left available for intelligence."

Recorded so far...
(7 seconds)
Video of mechs in distance at the Plant
Voice, "This is at the Gambranus North Plant, 20 miles outside the city."

(8 seconds)
griffin, a crab, a hunchback, a couple of wasps All painted with the 31st marik Militia
"Within a warehouse between the main gate from the city and the corporate offices

(15 seconds)
Video of mechs seen while exiting the grounds of the North Plant.
Voice, "We are leaving the North Plant now and have learned that the military unit call themselves the 2nd Battalion of the 31st Marik Militia and they are paying handsomely for the use of Gambranus facilities in their northern and eastern plant warehouses.
