Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Korin "If yah aint gonna tell us what in the hell is going on Norbold I'm gonna leave yah here with the big fella." the dwarf says quite obviously frustrated and a little ticked off, the dwarf tries to shove his way past the chatty Norbold to look the big brute in the "thighs" eye and demand he speak in a language they all can understand "Whats yer blabbering about big fella caint yah speak any other language." the dwarf says in common, dwarven & Gnome being the only 3 languages he knows.

Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:
In the midst of chatting it up with the creature, Norbold hears and sees Korin getting impatient.
Norbold, tries to motion to Korin to stay put and settle down!

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Just as Norbold is rounding up conversation with the big brute, and turning around to translate everything to the others, Korin's impatient outburst aggravates the big fella, who, upon seeing the dwarf snarls at him in angry surprise:
"Huh? Naee tsuwban ang - naee stinkdvärg jha!! WHOOaaarrrggghhh!". Norbold has no time to calm things down: roaring angrily, the brute once again swings his halberd!!!
Cave inhabitant, to hit: [1d20] = 10, halberd damage: [1d10] = 7
but his weapon just swishes over their heads, knocking another piece out of the cave wall. Norbold and Korin are sprinkled with mineral dust, as the being bellows with rage, preparing another attack:
"Grrrr-gaaaharrrggghh!!!
Korin roll initiative, thanks.

Ox quickly follows Korin deeper into the cave. Ya sure this is smart buddy?

Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:
Norbold ducks as the halberd comes whizzing past his head and into the cave wall, spraying mineral dust upon him.
He quickly gives himself a couple of pats with his free hand to shake off the dust, while holding his mace defensively, looking to strike the creature he just offered to establish a trade of his goods with Slowcroft and to visit the pub. But, the creature's brain could not take so many words at once and the impatient Korin startled him, any chance of friendship apparently just went out the window.

Phoenix yelps as the big blade whistles by, and scuttles back further up the tunnel away from the fighting. He grasps his weapons defensively as he does so, knowing the middle of a combat is no place for him.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
If someone would have translated the conversation the dwarf wouldn't have gotten impatient

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Norbold, having bravely tried to establish some rapport with the big cave being, sees his diplomatic efforts nullified by impatient Korin, who not only provokes the big guy to attack again, but also leaves the party behind as he dashes deeper into the cave, with Ox quickly following him.
Phoenix and Norbold are now separated from Ox and Korin, while the angry cave being thrashes around his cave room, without hitting anyone (yet).
Phoenix and Norbold are safe from his attacks in the passage which is too small for the cave guy; Ox and Korin are potentially exposed while out in the open. The only lit torch is with Korin.
Next plot development will now be sent by separate PMs to a) Pyro+Storm, and to b) Dram+Greywolf respectively. While the quartet is split up, the game will continue in PM mode, not in open posts, as each duo isn't able to "know" what the other group is experiencing.
If and when the two groups are united again, we go back to open posts. But for now.... please check your PMs.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
tbh i really hate PM mode. It would be better if you just had private forums for each of the four of us made in game by Tonixx a lo of the other DMs do that rather than PMs

everyone else feel the same way ? If so, I'll have to think of something else. Game pause until I got everyone's replies.tbh i really hate PM mode. It would be better if you just had private forums for each of the four of us made in game by Tonixx a lo of the other DMs do that rather than PMs
Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
I don’t mind to be honest. It doesn’t bother me either way.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
I don't mind, however some things that other characters would not / should not know, benefits from using PM's.
However, using separate forums, allow for an easy later look back and see, after the fact.
Though, of course the DM could combine the PM's later and post into the forums, when the stuff no longer needs to be kept secret.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
I do like the private forum. I think it works better for the players and DM.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Thanks all for quick replies. It seems then that we have a 3 (or at least 2.5) out of 4 leaning towards private forums. OK I'll try to get it sorted out. Please stand by.
Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Separate private forums have now been set up for Korin/Ox, and Norbold/Phoenix respectively. To better explain the cave being you have all just encountered, in order to give you a better chance to interpret its appearance and act upon it, a (hopefully) more thorough description has been posted in each private forum.
The game now continues in each private forum for the time being (i e not via PM any more).
