Korin "Sure." the dwarf replies and puts a hand out for the torch.

Korin trails behind Norbold giving him room to walk ahead of the torches light staying 30' behind.

<HhhuAArrggh!!>
The instant Norbold pokes his nose around the corner, he is blasted with a rasping howl, enough to put fear in any brave adventurer - but he can't see who or what emitted it.
In addition, something also went <crunch> under his right boot.

Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:
Norbold does indeed jump at the suddenness he is met with the second growl, reflectively both lifting his right foot away and hopping backwards, while keeping his sword in front of him!
He keeps looking down at his boot and in front of him, expecting something to come forward.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
With Korin moving up towards Norbold, the torch enables Norbold to see that what he stepped upon seems to be....bones. Quite a few bones or bone splinters lie strewn out in front of them.
Glancing up from the floor, they see the passage continuing forward abt. 10-20 feet until opening up into a larger space. The source of the growl is not visible. Once a gain, a puff of 'organic' smells wafts towards them.

Norbold Ernessaeia (Sylvanian Elf Cleric): Scale Mail AC 6 : Hit Points 6 / 6:
Norbold grimaces at the sight of all the bones and gets a whiff of the organic smell and whispers,
"Heh, maybe what we are hearing is more of a giant fart.
What say, we poke around in the bones, to see if anything is under them, waiting to eat us?"

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
The pair only have time to realise that the bones on the floor are human, or humanoid, when....
<GwoooaaARrghhh>!!!
their eardrums are shattered by another blood-curdling growl coming from straight ahead. It sounds a lot closer than last time....

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
The source of the sound is somewhere ahead in the room that this short passage opens up into. Difficult to pinpoint because of echoes.

Norbold, slowly, creeps forward, after not seeing the source of the noise, slowly stepping into and upon the scattering of bones along the floor.

Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
And so does Ox [as NPC].Korin follows about 6 feet behind Norbold this time.
Re: Chapter 03: Minn's Mound
Braving the possible dangers ahead, Norbold tiptoes forward through crackling bits of bone - with Korin and Ox just behind.Stepping out from the passage into the larger room (which looks more like a cave than a man-made area), he almost bumps into this huge stinking entity, towering over him!
(This roll is for Ox [as NPC] DM's stand-in-for-AFK-player d6 roll:[1d6] = 1)
Norbold and Korin please roll d6 for surprise! (This roll is for Ox [as NPC] DM's stand-in-for-AFK-player d6 roll:[1d6] = 1)
