Billy Barstowe

Roger that, Billy replies before scurrying off to find a decent sniping spot. He will wait until Saul tells him to open fire before he takes out the driver of the Deuce. He'll use a Hero Point to make sure his shot flies true.

Mackay Dam, near the Town of Chilly, Idaho; approx. 9:30 AM, Saturday, 20 June 1987

The Russian convoy slowed down and came to a stop at a little over a hundred yards from the Dam when they almost CERTAINLY became aware of something being wrong, probably due to the shot-up Tower when the band of Freedom-Fighters opened up on them....

From a prone position behind a small, natural ridge, Billy took a deep breath, held it and then made the shot of his life. His thrity-aught-six Deer Rifle bucked against his shoulder and a heavy 7.62mm slug traveled almost a hundred and fifty yards in the blink of an eye to slam into and through the upper torso of the Russian soldier behind the wheel and he jerked back from the impact and then folded forward to lay un-moving on the steering wheel, letting out a long, continuous blare from the car horn....

From a position maybe 10 yards away from Billy, Saul rose up on one knee, grunting with the pain from his mid-section, but he held the RPG steady in his hands and filled the sights with the machine-gun equipped Jeep and let fly with one of his 2 rockets. The Rocket flashed through the air, leaving a smoke trail showing its path and its journey terminated at the engine block of the vehicle where it exploded in a geyser of flame, smoke and flying bits of metal that shattered the wind-screen and killed the driver while also flinging the soldier manning the mounted machine-gun back and to the ground behind the vehicle out of sight. The Jeep was raised up off its front wheels for a moment before coming back to the ground with a significant portion of its front now missing and smoking.....

Raffy turned the turret of the BMP and lined up the big, 73mm smooth-bore cannon with the BTR across the way and he pulled the trigger, sending a large, but slow-moving shell down-range where it eventually just managed to clip the lower front corner of the APC and with an explosion managed to blow off a front right tire, dropping the BTR to sit in a weird, uneven pile on the ground with flames slowly crackling from the half-melted rubber from the tire.....

The Soviet response was quick in coming as the BTR's turret was still intact and whoever was manning it was also clearly doing okay as the Heavy 14.5mm Heavy Machine Gun came roaring to life and the near-cannon rounds soon tore up earth and asphalt near the BMP that Raffy was in, before 'walking' their way into and through the armored side and turret the young Latino resistance fighter was sitting in; which he saw coming through the Turret's scope, allowing him to dive to the floor of the vehicle right before the slugs tore up the turret, its controls and the seat he had been sitting in just moments ago. Scrambling to his hands and knees, ears ringing from the echoes of the hits, Raffy dove out of the APC through the open 'tear' the RPG hit from the night before had opened on the opposite side of the vehicle and he quickly rolled down and behind the heavy treads of the BMP as the BTR's accurate fire tore up the turret and troop compartment section of the BMP.....

Soldiers began pouring out of the back of the deuce-and-a-half truck; three walking into the long spray of fire that Jenny sent their way from her position in the top of the Tower with her commandeered RPK* resting on its bipod on the window-frame that no longer housed the blown-out windows that had been shattered in the fighting from last night. Next to Jenny, Sheena took careful aim with an AK and fired a pair of bursts; the first of which missed its target while the second dropped yet another Soviet soldier....showing that the voluptuous Rebel was more than just a 'honey trap'....

Saul reloaded the RPG launcher with its last Rocket as he risked a quick look over the ridge line to assess the situation. The BTR clearly had a dangerous gunner in its turret and he could see the rear hatches opening up a Squad of soldiers starting to disembark from the immobilized vehicle. From the Truck, he could see perhaps a dozen to twenty troops pour out of the rear and while 3 or 4 were quickly dropped from fire from Jenny and Sheena in the Tower; that left a LOT of soldiers to worry about. Also, the Machinegun on the back of the Jeep still stood-out as a possible threat that one of the Soviet troops could utilize......what to do....what to do.....

*Jenny cut loose a spray of 15 rounds leaving her with 30 rounds out of 45 in the Clip in the LMG while she also has a second, full clip of ammo as well. Saul has 1 more Rocket for the RPG and Raffy can have an AK he brought into the BMP if he wants too.....100+ yards is quite a dicey proposition with a pistol or SMG :)

Billy Barstowe

Billy will fire on anyone trying to use the machine gun. If no one approaches it, he will find another target.

"Nice shot Sheena! Let's keep them pinned down."

Jenny fires another burst at the group of soldiers coming from the truck.

Mackay Dam, near the Town of Chilly, Idaho; approx. 9:35 AM, Saturday, 20 June 1987

Billy worked the bolt action of his Winchester Rifle to chamber another .30-06 round and then rises up from behind the ridge he was crouching behind and he saw a Soviet solider clambering up to man the machinegun mounted on the back of the immobilized Jeep and he took careful aim again through the Scope. Taking a deep breath, he pulled the trigger and he watched in triumph as the man took a hit high in the chest and fell off the Jeep to land in a heap. His moment of triumph was short-lived however as he saw a wave of perhaps 20 Soviet Soldiers charging across the hundred-some yards towards the ridge he and Saul were currently crouched behind, many of them firing their weapons as they did so. Bullets zipped past him, sounding like angry hornets as others chewed up bits of grass and earth to either side of him and then he felt like something punched him in the ribs and he fell face-down behind the protection of the ridge as his side suddenly felt like it was on fire. Hissing with pain, his hand tentatively touched bloody wound, but he was relieved to feel/see that the bullet probably glanced off a rib and didn't penetrate into any internal organs; but it still stung like a bit#@!*

Jenny sees somewhere around 15-20 troops form a ragged line and charge across the open field towards the ridge line where Billy and Saul were crouched and keeping the butt of the RPK-74 in her shoulder, she holds down the trigger and sends a long burst of fire that way**, watching as her shots 'walk' their way into a pair of troops and drop them to the ground. A moment later, she notices that gunfire is coming her way to and impacting the walls and the window-ledge she currently has her LMG mounted on and notices that half-a-dozen Russians have deployed out of the BTR that Raffy hit earlier and are taking aim at her and Sheena. Sheena had noticed them too and cut loose with a long burst from her AK that dropped a Soviet soldier carrying an RPG and another carrying an RPK just like hers. Then Sheena let out a shriek as she dropped to the ground behind the window ledge, her AK having been hit by return fire and luckily shielding her as she shakily called out; "I'm okay! They took out my gun though!"

Saul rose up with his reloaded RPG and took careful aim and then pulled the trigger, sending a rocket flashing out towards the BTR and landing a direct hit on the turret, causing a brief flash of flame and smoke and the spectacular sight of the turret popping up and completely off of the APC. Saul then ducked down as a rain of lead came his way and he saw Raffy run his way, diving behind the ridge line some 10 yards away and Silverman tossed him one of his last couple grenades before glancing back and seeing the 15 or so Russian soldiers running across the field, perhaps 50 yards away now***....

Raffy raced forward, keeping low and making a bee-line towards the ridge line that Billy and Saul were using as cover, doing his best to ignore the zipping sound of bullets flying near him. One stung for a moment as it grazed the back of his shoulder****; but it did no real harm and he dove the last 5 feet; coming down in a nice roll and just in time to see Saul tossing an intact grenade his way and calling out for him to use it. Glancing up; the young Latino could see that there were maybe a dozen or 15 Russian Troops crossing the field and then glancing back the way he had just come from; he saw a group of 3 or 4 firing up at the Tower the girls were in that were maybe 20 yards away....

*Billy is Wounded; he is at -1D for all actions until treated
**Jenny has 15 rounds left in the clip currently in the RPK....she also has a Hero Point....just tossing that out there :)
***Saul has 2 grenades....but he is also the only character with the Thrown Weapons skill....so I went and had him toss only 1 of the 2 to Raffy....you are of course welcome to change your mind...but thought I'd mention that. :)
****Raffy is Grazed...no real harm/damage done....I made a TERRIBLE roll for the AK's Damage and a GREAT roll for Raffy's STR

Raffy dives over the ridge, nearly crapping himself as he does so. He scrambles around to get his head point upwards. "This is gonna be ugly." he says. Snatching the gernade out of the air, he glances at it, holds the trigger before pulling the pin. He thinks a bit before sliding down the hill, standing up, releasing the trigger and counting one, before throwing it towards the on-coming unit.

Billy rolls a few feet to the side before popping up to fire at one of the Russians firing on the women in the tower.

Raffy hesitates a second as the count is yelled out by Saul, but only a second, he whips a fastball down the middle of the plate, looking for a fast roll into the group.

Jenny

"Sheena!" Jenny cries as the seductress has her gun destroyed in front of her. "Crap. Ok, there's another gun nearby. Watch for soldiers coming in!"

Jenny pivots and aims down at the group firing at her and unleashes the rest of her ammo at them, cursing as she does so.

will use her hero point

Mackay Dam, near the Town of Chilly, Idaho; approx. 9:40 AM, Saturday, 20 June 1987

In an uncharacteristic moment of bellowing out a curse, Jenny leans out of the shot-out window frame and unloads the last of the ammo in the RPK's clip while feeling the recoil slam into her shoulder and shrugging it off in a Rambo-worthy moment of adrenaline fueled rage. Her spray of fire tears into 3 of the 4 Soviet troops rushing for the doorway into the tower and the last Soviet troop fires a hasty burst from his AK that causes plaster dust to rise up into the air from the near-misses and a single bullet slams into Jenny where her shoulder and chest come together and the bullet deflects off her collar bone after breaking it and passes through her shoulder muscle and out of her body as she falls back in pain, dropping the now empty RPK in a rattle on the floor. Sheena comes racing over and frets over the dazed Jenny*; asking "What do I do, What do I do, What do I do?" in a panicked manner.....

Outside, Billy rises up and sees Jenny hose down 3 out of 4 Russians charging for the tower, but sees that last Russian soldier fire a burst back at her. Without really thinking about it and hissing at the pain of his own wound; Billy draws a bead on the man and pulls the trigger of his deer Rifle; sending a high-powered .30-06 slug straight through the center of the man's torso and dropping him to the ground like a puppet with its strings suddenly cut. Barstowe then drops to the ground as he realized the Soviet troops rushing his way are also firing at him and he lets out a sigh of relief as the various buzzing insect like sounds of near-misses serve to inform him that he was miraculously not hit....

Raffy tosses a grenade at the dozen to 15 Russian troops closing on the little ridge he, Saul and Billy were hiding behind; and his toss is NOT particularly well-thrown, but it takes a lucky bounce and explodes with enough force to drop a pair of Soviet soldiers from the shrapnel propelled into their backs....

Saul also tosses a grenade, but his is EXTREMELY well-placed and it explodes to devastating effect; dropping no less than 5 Soviet troops and when he peeks up over the ridge after the grenade goes off, he sees perhaps half-a-dozen Soviet troops; all falling prone to the ground and rolling to either side to spread out. He glances over at the Tower and sees that all of the Russians on that flank appear to have been dealt with.....

*Jenny is Wounded (-1D to all future actions)

Jenny

Hisses in pain while trying to calm Sheena. "It's ok. It passed through." She tries to raise her arm and squeaks out "Ahh! Ok....that's broken." Jenny nods at the RPK. "Sheena. I need you to pick that up and reload it. I'll show you how. Quickly!"

She tries to pull out her Beretta and keep the stairs in her sights.

Raffy takes advantage of the situation, rising enough to get a clear line of sight, taking some time to identify targets before beginning to squeeze off shots.
