"At an inn!" chirps Tippin. "I wonder if any of the inns in town have nice hobbit holes?"

Day 3: Roganter (Nightfall)
At the Hagfish, Jargie collects Rainey's token deposit and scoops a tankard into Norah's tank. The excited crowd begins to form as Jargie wipes a strain of slime away from the edge of the mug before sliding it over to the nervous mage. "Hold yer breath," the one-legged proprietor offers as a piece of last second advise. With all eyes on Rainey, he cautiously brings the concoction up to his lips and, after the tiniest of sips, his poor constitution fails him... miserably. The crowd erupts into laughter as Norah easily wins yet another challenge. Rainey does not die, but does spend a total of 17 gold pieces buying drinks and entertaining that night.

Meanwhile, Mila happily concludes her business transaction at the Curious Goblin, selling the extra spellbook to Ilsoari. "You teach magic?" she squeaks quietly to Ilsoari, her eyebrows rising in interest. "I teach children!" he laughs. "At the Turandarok Academy next door," he adds, pointing towards a larger stone building across the street. "My days of magic are long in the past," adds the retired adventurer. "You have any children?" he asks.

At the Town Hall, AdaRue, Tippin, and the rest thank Sergee for his information and time, and say they will return with their coins at a future time. The group agrees that they should retire at the inn for the night, and inspect their findings for anything magical or unusual before selling anything.

----

Rainey, please deduct 17 gold pieces. Also, if anyone has any other solo activities they want to perform during the current day, let me know. Otherwise, let's turn our attentions towards accommodations. There are enough rooms available for everyone at the White Deer inn, for 1 gold piece per night, but not everyone is required to have their own rooms. Please use the OOC thread to discuss arrangements so we can advance to the next day.

Mila

@Curious Goblin

Embarrassedly explains she has no children and takes her leave to go to the Inn to find the rest of her party and share what she has learned about the town as well as the coin ahe earbed for the spellbook and daggers. She will also pull AdaRue aside for a private conversation. (PM sent to Rusty and Dave)

Keebler, suddenly flush with coin, arranges solo accommodations at the White Deer Inn. "No offense to the rest of you," he explains, "but I would like a few nights rest without the sounds and scents of a slumber party."

40 sp deducted.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tippin tugs on the sleeve of the innkeeper. "Hi! Do you have any cozy hobbit-sized rooms?"
Mila
Once they are at the white deer, Mila pays for a night in a room assuming AdaRue will join her later. She goes up to her room and happily dumps her things on the floor by the bed. (-2gp)
She will also ask about a warm meal and a bath before heading to her room.
dmw71 wrote: While he silently disapproves of how the ceremony currently underway is being performed -- the celebration of a childbirth -- Canun can't help but marvel at the construction of the cathedral itself. The entire structure is built of perfectly carved stone and etched glass, unlike every other building he's seen so far which have been constructed of wood. It is truly impressive.
Tearing himself away from the distraction that is, at least in his mind, an amateurish ceremony, he notices, deeper into the grand cathedral, sunlight. Venturing further inside, he observes, at the core of both this new cathedral, is an open-air courtyard. Inside this open area is a circular stone alter, which is surrounded by a set of six standing stones. He learns, through casual observation, that these large stones are in place to serve as individual shrines dedicated to the six most commonly worshiped deities in the region: Abadar, Desna, Erastil, Gozreh, Sarenrae, and Shelyn.
  • Deities
    • Abadar (pronounced AH-bah-dar): God of cities, law, merchants, and wealth.
    • Desna (pronounced DEZ-nuh): Goddess of freedom and luck; credited with the creation of the heavens.
    • Erastil (pronounced eh-RAS-til): God of farming, hunting, and trade.
    • Gozreh (pronounced GOHZ-ray): God of weather and the sea.
    • Sarenrae (pronounced SAER-en-ray): Goddess of redemption, honesty, and healing.
    • Shelyn (pronounced SHEHL-ihn): Goddess of art, beauty, love, and music.
Before leaving, Canun also learns that this multi-denominational cathedral is run by Abstalar Zantus, a priest of Desna.
One day soon, a stone larger than the rest will honor Hubbard thinks Canun to himself.
dmw71 wrote: Leaving the cathedral, Canun makes his way across town to the Goblin Squash Stables. A sign above the door to a smaller building is illustrated with a painting of a lowly goblin being trampled underfoot by a horse. Off to the right, however, are the stables themselves and a covered barn. Out near the stables, a retired hunter named Daviren Hosk, whose hatred of goblins is nearly legendary in Roganter, is found efforting to pull a nail caught in the foot of one of his mules. As Canun approaches, he notices a somewhat grisly display, over the entrance to the stable’s covered barn is Daviren's collection of goblin ears: preserved and nailed to three different rafters, each bearing the goblin’s name burned into the leathery flesh — mostly because Daviren knows that writing down a goblin’s name is one of the worst things you can do to desecrate his memory.
"Can I help ya?" the grizzled man says without prying his eyes from his work.
The nail finally removed, he pats the mule on its ass. "There, good as new -- almost." he says proudly. "Fer a dozen gold, she's yours."
"I have 120 silver for you, my friend. Minus any discount for a man of the cloth, of course" smiles Canun. Unfortunately for the cleric, it looks more like a sneer. "How much can she carry? We are treasure hunters extraordinaire, you understand, and I need an ass that can carry quite a load."
Apologies, last night got away from me.
----
Day 3: Goblin Squash Stables
Canun is able to purchase a mule, and is shocked when his charm is unable to secure him a discount on the price. "I call her Nelly, but call her whatever you want," Daviren says, and agrees to board the mule for the first night free. "It'll be a gold per night after tonight if you want me to keep her longer" he adds. "She'll be able to easily carry a couple hundred pounds," he says, adding that she could probably carry double this comfortable weight in total, but the extra burden would slow her down. "She's dependable, so don't worry."
Everyone completes their solo activities for the day and returns to the White Deer Inn at nightfall, where they're able to secure boarding, baths, and meals.
Moving to new day, here: V. Roganter - Extended Visits.
Canun, feel free to tie up the stable transaction in the new 'extended visits' thread.
