Savage Worlds Broken Earth/Morrow Project P-A Mash-up

#1 Post by ybn1197 »

Checking to see if there is any interest in a Savage Worlds game using a Broken Earth/Morrow Project mash-up. For those who don't know, Broken Earth is a Savage Worlds setting by Sneak Attack Press. It is 80 years since the end of civilization and the players are descendants of survivors who are finding their way in this post apocalyptic landscape. Morrow Project is an RPG by itself developed by TimeLine Ltd. The players are specialists enrolled in the Morrow Project, an attempt to rebuild civilization after the fall of the world. The members of the Morrow Project were supposed to be awoken from cryo-suspension 5 years after the world destroyed itself however something went wrong and it is now 150 years later.

I will be using Savage Worlds/Broken Earth for the rules systems and The Morrow Project for the campaign background. I will also be throwing in random bits to enliven the world ala Gamma World. The Savage Worlds rules are available for free in the form of a quick-start set. Broken Earth is not necessary as most of the information in that book will be used by me, your characters will be modern era specialists frozen in order to be revived at a later time.

Anyone interested in this?

I might be interested if you don't mind someone with no experience with Savage Worlds.

GMs here are really good with players who are unfamiliar with systems. Savage Worlds is a pretty easy system to learn. Just make sure you pick up the free rules and read them, you'll be fine.

Unfortunately, I really cannot get into another game, although it sounds like it'll be a lot of fun. Good luck to those who do play!
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

I don't mind at all. Everyone has to start somewhere. And to be honest, this will be my first as well. I have played and run Classic Deadlands which formed the backbone of Savage Worlds so I have a step up in that respect. :D

On the right hand side of their page you can find the "Test Drive" rules, which is what they call their quickstart. :)

Good luck and have fun!

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

I read the quick start, looks easy enough just need some background/any house rules for character generation.

We have 2 players so far. I put some ads out on Giant in the Playground and Goggle+ Savage Worlds. Hopefully we'll pick up another player or two from them. I would post something on PEG forums but they are offline for at least another week.

Looks like there are 2 Test Drive options. Which do you recommend? I was hoping to look them over to see if they speak to me. Might be fun to do something other than fantasy.

This looks fun and the rules seem straight forward enough to catch onto. And the premise was exciting enough to make me consider it, but I dont think I should jump into anything else right now. I hope this takes off so I can read it though.

I want to play, but I am realy new and I have no clue how time consuming the Play-By-Post system is. And english is not my nativ language.

I just started my first PnP game ever with Savage Worlds (Slipstream) and we meet once a month, so I want to have more experience in play and how to GM.

You are certainly welcome to join. Play-by-Post is not very time consuming, its one of its positives. You jump in when you have the time. I prefer people check in once every day or so. Personally, I try to check once a day from Monday through Friday. The weekends are time for my family and every other Sunday is my 5e game.

Rex and Urson, you still interested? With Uoji we have three players which is enough for me to give it a start. Hopefully we can pick up some other players along the way.
