We're thinking of doing something like that at some point. Let me know how it goes and what all we need to do ahead of time to prepare.
Don't think my almost-5-year-old son will be interested in having breakfast with a princess, but... things we can do to make the trip easier would be appreciated.

Have a good time, man. I know the wife and I are starting a vacation fund now to take our kids there in a year or two.

Re: Known Absences
Tips to surviving Disney:
1. Fort Wilderness :a disney resort with cabins. 2 queen size beds and a bunk bed slept my family of 6 comfortably. Kitchen, stove, microwave, 2 TVs (but you wont have time), a fridge, several public pools/hot tubs, 1/2 the cost of most other resorts on Disney property.
2. You can bring coolers with food and drinks into Disney. Bring a stroller that'll fit a cooler and load it with ice and bottle water /soda.
3. Check online for dates of special events. I'm not against homosexuals but on Disney Gay Pride weekend it's inappropriate for kids. Trust me. You'd be thrown out if you acted this way with your girlfriend /wife.
4. Avoid gift shops . There's plenty of tourist trap shops around outside Disney with mostly same stuff for 1/2 the price.
5. If driving far leave plenty of time for drive back. After 5 days of Disney driving 18 hours for me was impossible. Had to stop and crash for the night.
6.If doing electric lights parade (very cool for kids ) do the 11:00pm one. 1/2 park clears out after 10:00 parade and you'll have a better spot and easier time getting out after.
7. Find a spot with clear view of front of castle EARLY for fireworks.
8. Unless it changes don't bother with food passes. They're restrictive and you don't save much $
9. Make sure you are very clear how fast passes work for Disney. They SUCK compared to Universal but are pretty necessary for most the good rides.
10. If you're spending at least 3 days I recommend AT LEAST 1 of those reserved for Universal Studios.
A. You can't take food in but they have refill buckets for cheaper pop corn and refill cups for free sodas throughout. parks. A MUST.
B. Much friendlier staff.
C. Much more rules light
D. Lots to see and do without MASSIVE crowds
E. Fast Passes for rides

Re: Known Absences
I, actually, am going to be taking a somewhat last-minute camping trip with my family Thursday through Saturday. I'm hoping to have connectivity when I arrive, but let this serve as a warning that I my weekend may be starting a bit early this week.

Re: Known Absences
Hope you have a great relaxing time. It's family time. We'll be here when you return.
Re: Known Absences
I will be traveling for work tomorrow through Friday. Should have access in the evenings and sporadically throughout the day, but maybe not always the free time.

I will be traveling for the next week or so starting tomorrow, 8/20. Probably won't be accessing the forums during the day, but should be able to check in the mornings and evenings.
