As Varrick goes to move the dwarf, poor Rafos body turns to dust and crumples to the floor leaving his armor an empty shell.
The elven mage apparently suffers the same fate.

Varrick jumps back with an audible, "Gah!" scooting away from the crumbling remains, "Yeh see all dat eh?! A'll Suddnly burstin ta flames!" He stands up and dusts himself off, "Guessin dey won' be gettin' no burials today yeh? Cost o' 'splorin deep in 'ere." he turns around and see's Caltus also breaking down, Varrick then starts freaking out, "'e wan' 'it!" He turns back to Evie and Thorgrim, "Quick now, let be gettin an' valuables 'ere and movin on, 'fore we be breakin down 'swell yeh?" With that Varrick begins looting around the treasure that was left behind the magical circle as well as taking anything of interesting from Caltus, Rafo, and Malfiac.

Yes, if anything on Malfiac is still intact, feel free to take it.

Thorgrim pitches in and helps collect anything useful from the slain bodies and search the surrounding area for anything else that might be useful or valuable.

Varrick looks over everything, "A' ain' sure 'bout ta cost o' gettin dese treasas but seem we 'it 'a good scor' yeh?" Varrick then takes his backpack, Rafos, Malfiacs, and Caltus backpacks and begins piling as much as he can into each one from the treasure hoard. He motions for Thorgrim to do the same, once everything is piled up and the only things not inside backpacks are the big stuff like the crossbow and javelin Varrick will give one pack, the lighter of the ones, to Evie. He'll also grab the crossbow and hold onto it, thinking it may be useful later on or get them some more coins from selling it.

As Varrick is loading up bags he notices Malfiacs thick leather bag has a massive capacity. A dozen times its actual size, and it's weight doesn't increase as goods are placed within.

Varricks eyes widen, a grin escaping from his face, "It seem' ol' Mal 'ad a' pretty fin' ta 'imself." he continues loading the pack with this new information in hand.

Varrick scratches his head, "'Ea dat mabbe wot we's needin ta do, Ques' is we findin' a' 'ay out more in? Or we 'eadin back out ta way we came?" He looks up the stairs that lay beyond the stashed treasures of the knight.

If I remember correctly the trails leads on right? I thought I remember the map heading further up, perhaps to an exit?

then backwards it is!

Varrick finishes scratching his head, shrugging simply, and leads the way back out, looking for any more spiders once they get to the webbed area.

evies farm is about 1/2 a days walk west of Midway. I'd like to go ahead and say the trip is uneventful and get Ya there so you can sort that out and run into your new party members if it's okay with you two?

Fine with me. If they are passing through Midway Varrick would appreciated the obligatory mention of him wooing young girls pantaloons off. ;)

The party makes it back through the caves, spying the elven mages friend rat, running down another tunnel.
You leave the damp coolness of the caves and are immediately engulfed in the hot humid air of the jungle.
Making your way along your previous path you stop and again camp at the same halfway point. The rotting corpse of the previously defeated shambling mound leaves a sickly sweet odor in the heavy air.
The end of the following day finds you at the gates of the fortified town of Midway. Here you talk Evie into resting one more night before heading further west toward her destination and home.
Before you head out in the morning a tall, dark haired elf, wearing a crimson cloak approaches.
