Craxzus (NPC) begins his incantation and his skin takes on an oily sheen as his joints twist into unnatural positions. His form diminishing as his nose elongates into a beak and feathers sprout from his flesh.
His transformation complete, he takes to the sky, leaving the others to sleep with unsettling dreams.
The bird flies off to the west.

Craxzus will look for any scouts or a large group of orcs as he flies up out of arrow shot.

About 30 minutes after leaving Craxzus returns and assumes his humanoid form.
"That is unnerving at best." says the captain as he watches the feathers being absorbed back into Craxzus skin. "What did you spy?"

Craxzus- I saw nothing. There was no sign of there camp fires or forges it is like they left. But would keep a double watch on. He turns to his party We should head out and investigate.

Two hours passes since Craxzus took flight and the resting party is roused.
"We are ready." says the captain.
"The troops are mustered and armed but...I'm not entirely sure what is our next move. Craxzus says there is no sign of orcs coming from the mountain. Surely they haven't a clue of their leaders demise and why should they have abandoned their camp, if thats the case?"

Craxzus- I will go out again and search the area. Are you guys going to head out towards orc camp? Moving towards the door.

Craxzus- I shall scout ahead of you. I will come back immediately if I see anything. I will go as far as the the Orc camp. Look for marching trail. A group that had to leave a trail. Craxzus begins casting his spell.

Craxzus currently has 2 MP remaining from previous journey.

*from previous PM*
It would take 2 castings of Beast form to reach the orc camp if you also use a potion of speed. Beast Form takes 4 MP per cast. Craxzus has 10 MP currently. So you can fly 1/2 way and fly back for 8 mp

So he used 8 MP from earlier scouting

"Very well." says the captain, walking you to the south gate. "Its a couple hours march to the crater and back and you'll have no sun for a bit still.
As you make to leave the walled town a guard shouts from above the gate. "Patrol from Middleton returnin!"
The gates open and three men on horses enter. They dismount and salute their superior. "Sir, no hostiles reported along the road to the south."
the crater is due east. Is that the groups destination?
