Shinyah, Owl

After missing his attack on the bat and instead colliding with the ceiling, Shinyah is dazed. The owl begins plummeting through the air, falling toward the water. Fortunately, he is able to shake off the cobwebs and pull out of the descent about a foot and a half before hitting the water. Realizing that is not an effective mode of combat right now, he lands on the balcony rail to further collect himself and make sure no ranged attacks manage to find his feathery form instead of the foul furry flying fiend.

Scarlett

Scarlett tries to turn the vampiric bat, three times in fact: [1d20] = 0
[1d20] = 0
[1d20] = 0

figuring that Samar doesn't want Scarlett to turn the bat... :? so...

Scarlett will assist Bogdana in climbing up the rope and over the balcony. Besides the two thrones chairs what else can Scarlett see. Anything behind the curtain? What is Castran searching for?

Gragog nods re-inspired to attack. However he has to go fishing for his spear and does so.

Go ahead and edit your posts when the dice roller comes back up, or I can roll for you. GreyWolfVT, what weapon is Gragog attacking with? He threw his spear, so it's somewhere in the water.

Bragar fire another magic bolt at the bat. If you got any magical weapons that can hit the thing, use them.

Wasn't aware there was water up here also wasn't aware that the bat was flying above the water area I thought we just climbed away from that and were attacking the bat above the dry torture area. I guess he is not attacking at all. Post edited however he is now going to have to climb down and fish around for his weapon.

You press the attack against the evil bat as best you can. But lacking much in the way of ranged weapons, there seem to be little you can do.

Shinyah recovers from his daze and avoids plunging into the water. Realizing that an owl is no match for whatever that bat is, he retreats to the balcony rail to collect himself.

Gragog climbs back down the balcony into the black water to search for his magic spear. He reaches down, wondering what his hands might find other than his weapon. Waterlogged body parts? Submerged instruments of torture? Fish? Thankfully, he finds only his spear.

Agax tosses three darts. Only one makes contact and that seems to have no effect. All three darts land with soft plops in the foul water.

Bragar fires another crossbow bolt that punctures a wing. But even as he inflicts damage, the bat heals it. The wound the dwarf cleric inflicted just a moment ago has already closed up halfway!

Petyr holds his fire. "My arrows are useless against it!" he says.

As the combat rages, Castran turns his attention from the faint rising mist that used to be in the form of Tibbius to the ceiling. He sees rock, stained with moss from years in this damp environment. That and, towards the middle of the torture chamber ceiling, a bat having things thrown at it.

"Enough!" cries Scarlett. "Begone, foul creatures of darkness!" Amazingly, the bat complies, flying away through the hallway to the east!

Actions?
Agax's Detect Charm spell has expired. The bat was flittering about over the 50'x50' torture chamber; the balcony is to the north of that.

The gnome will check out the thrones themselves, looking to see if any are trapped or have hidden panels within them. Is there a door leading off up here? If there isn't one evident he will check for secret doors as well along the walls.

The balcony you are on extends the 50' length of the torture chamber, bowing out into the chamber itself. Behind the two thrones is a heavy red velvet curtain. Ten feet behind that curtain is a wall with a door in the middle of it. The door is currently closed.

After checking the thrones for secret panels etc the spellblade will listen at the door and if nothing untoward is heard open the thing slightly and glance beyond.

Scarlett

I am not sure how long the arm of Samar will ward our stay here. Let us press on through this veil before the evil bat returns with a flock of creatures to harass us.

Scarlett will have a look at these thrones, tapping their bases and looking for any niches in the carvings while the others climb up the balcony.

"Well done, my dear," Agax said to Scarlet. The dreaming wizard searched for his darts and then climbed up the rope to the balcony to join the others, happy to finally be above water level.

While Grogog and Agax retrieve their weapons from the black water (and the bears manage to clamber up onto the increasingly-crowded balcony), Scarlett and Castran inspects the thrones. They find a bag underneath the one to the west, containing what must be hundreds of platinum coins!

Castran listens at the door. Hearing nothing he opens it a few inches and peers into the room beyond. He sees a 30' square chamber that is brightly lit by a fiery brazier in the center of the room. Iron statutes stand in alcoves in the centers of the east and west walls. Smiling gargoyle carvings bare their teeth from high on the walls. Hanging high overhead from the center of the 20' ceiling is a large mahogany and brass hourglass. All its sand is in the upper chamber. In the center of the room, next to the brazier, is a golden chest. Three doors line the wall opposite the one Castran peers through. He notices that the door he is holding appears to be spring-loaded by a hidden mechanism so that it would close if not held open.
