Frank, Pure Human

Frank takes a moment to turn a disbelieving look on his sword; wondering if it somehow lost a foot of blade when he wasn't looking as he can't seem to make contact with the air around him; let alone the Electric Elk of Doom that was whooping up on him and his buddies.

With a sigh and a determined snarl; Frank once again attempts to slice-and-dice the blasted beast....

Combat Round 5

Initiative, in order:

Luke's Initiative = [1d10+2] = 8+2 = 10

Nor-jax's Initiative = [1d10] = 9

Frank's Initiative = [1d10] = 9

Bart's Initiative = [1d10+1] = 8+1 = 9

Electric Stag's Initiative = [1d10] = 8

Kapok's Initiative = [1d10] = 5

Luke charges at the beast, from behind, attempting to strike with both of his claws. +2 to hit, -2/-4 to hit with two weapons, +2/+0 after modifications. He misses with one, but hits with the other for 5 points of damage.

Luke's double claw attack = [1d20+2] = 7+2 = 9, [1d20] = 20

Luke's claw damage = [1d8+1] = 4+1 = 5 dmg.

Nor-jax swings again but strikes only air. The ape-man's eyes are filled with rage!

Nor-jax's axe attack = [1d20+2] = 5+2 = 7, [1d8+2] = 8+2 = 10 dmg.

Frank slashes at the mutant deer and his blow glances of one of the antler tips.

Frank's sword attack = [1d20+1] = 9+1 = 10, [1d8+1] = 8+1 = 9 dmg.

Bart swings his rope and flicks it towards the Electric Stag. Attempting to lasso an opponent in melee is considered firing a ranged weapon into melee. There is a 2:4 ratio that the Stag will be the target vs. the four characters engaged in melee. On a roll of 1d6, 1-2 targets the Stag, 3 targets Nor-jax, 4 targets Frank, 5 targets Kapok and 6 targets Luke. Lassoing an opponent is considered a Very Hard Difficulty, 5d6 against Bart's modified DEX of 14.

The rope heads towards Nor-jax and the lasso attempt misses. Nor-jax feels a rope land and drag against his shoulder at the same time he swings his axe.

Perhaps this causes his swing to miss?

Lasso into melee = [1d6] = 3

Lasso attempt= [5d6] = 18

The Electric Stag attacks a random opponent with full force. 1d4, 1 = Nor-jax, 2 = Frank, 3 = Kapok and 4 = Luke.

A hoof and the gore strike Luke for a total of 8 points of damage.

Random target = [1d4] = 4

Electric Stag's attacks = [1d20+6] = 1+6 = 7 hoof, [1d20+6] = 16+6 = 22 hoof, [1d20+6] = 17+6 = 23 gore

Electric Stag's damage = [1d8] = 6 hoof, [1d8] = 4 hoof, [1d8] = 4 gore

Kapok stares at the Stag, projects his Mind Thrust and blasts the beast for 13 points of damage!

Kapok's Mind Thrust attack = [1d20] = 19, [3d6] = 13 dmg.

The Electric Stag's head snaps back and violently shakes from side to side. The Stag lets out an agonizing bleat, staggers a little but remains standing.

Please state actions for the next combat round.

Current Hit Points:

Kapok = 43
Nor-jax = 51
Bart = 52
Luke = 44
Frank = 63

Nor-Jax, Mutant Animal, Gorilla

Nor-Jax's rage at missing again unleashes his animal fury. Dropping his axe, he pounds his chest and let's out a bestial roar before charging the electro-stag, biting and clawing with all his gorilla might.

Nor-Jax has a poisonous dermal slime that does 2d6 damage (save for half)

Frank, Pure Human

Frank; his hands still ringing from his sword glancing off the beast's antlers let out a frustrated breath and in a bitter tone mumbled; "Oh for the love of Pete.....you mother-"; and swung his sword yet again; hoping against hope to actually hit the damn Elk this time....

Combat Round 6

Initiative, in order:

Electric Stag's Initiative = [1d10] = 8

Frank's Initiative = [1d10] = 8

Bart's Initiative = [1d10+1] = 7+1 = 8

Luke's Initiative = [1d10+2] = 3+2 = 5

Kapok's Initiative = [1d10] = 4

Nor-jax's Initiative = [1d10] = 1

The Electric Stag whirls around to attack Luke in the same initiative as both Frank and Bart. The Stag's rear quarter is exposed during this move, and both Frank and Norjax's attacks are at +2.

OOC: The Stag's position ends facing Luke with Nor-jax opposite Luke. The Stag's rear passes Frank as it turns CCW, and since Frank has the same initiative as the Stag he is allowed a rear attack while the Stag spins. See graphic below.

Image

The Stag gores Bart ,as he attacks, for 8 points of damage and slashes Luke with both hooves for 6 points of damage.

Electric Stag's attacks = [1d20+6] = 13+6 = 19 hoof, [1d20+6] = 16+6 = 22 hoof, [1d20+6] = 19+6 = 25 gore

Electric Stag's damage = [1d8] = 3 hoof, [1d8] = 3 hoof, [1d8] = 8 gore

Frank times his attack perfectly and hits, but for a meager 2 points of damage!

Frank's sword attack = [1d20+3] = 14+3 = 17, [1d8+1] = 1+1 = 2 dmg.

Bart cleaves at the spinning beast and lands home for 9 points of damage! The Stag lets out a weak, curdling bleat and staggers side to side with its wounds pouring blood in every direction.

Bart's axe attack = [1d20] = 18, [1d8+1] = 8+1 = 9 dmg.

Luke responds to the Stag's double attack with a twin attack of his own, slicing the beast's neck with one claw that drops the Electric Stag dead before your feet!

Luke's double claw attack = [1d20] = 20, [1d20-2] = 1-2 = -1

Blood puddles under the corpse and the last trickles of electrical energy snap from the ends of its flaccid wings into the ground. You collectively breathe relief while scanning the combat area and gathering your senses.

Current Hit Points:

Kapok = 43
Nor-jax = 51
Frank = 63
Bart = 44
Luke = 38

Cthul Hand Luke, Mutant

Tentacles waving in the air, Luke says: "That was one weird critter." His archaic language jars with his mutant appearance and trilling voice.

"Feels good to be in my true body," the mutant explains, trying to bind his wounds as best he can. "The folks in Caston aren't too trusting of wildy lookin extreme mutants, so I've been in my human morph while in town. I trust you brother mutants won't mention this?"

Bart, Mutant human

Bart nods, in agreement to Luke; he will keep Luke’s secret.
Then processed to the stag and field dresses it with his axe.
He removes the wings and ties up the legs.

“He should make some fine barter and a very fine meal. It is a shame for all the holes, could have made a nice coat, perhaps a few vests.” Bart grins. “After we've collected our staves we can use some to carry the “shocky-deer” to Caston between two of us.”

Nor-Jax, MA Gorilla

Nor-Jax huffs at the dead deer before turning to help Kapos. He attempts to hide his anger and shame at having not hurt the electro-stag by savagely chopping at the small trees they were collecting for poles.
