Build A Town Survey - What size town should we build?

#1 Post by Alethan »

Let's do a survey to see what kind of town we should build.
Dragon foot. Bamboo pole. Little mouse. Tiny boy.

I think it should grow organically. ie. once first locale is self-sufficient for a setting, then someone would build an adjacent larger city, or a small hamlet on the crossroad toward the coast, etc.

The village sounds like the closest thing to a base unit. hamlet wouldnt have all core functions. Large city would have too many and get difficult to manage the hooks.

I assume there are other distinctions between hamlets, villages, cities besides size? Govt? can hamlets have churches? Seems some dictionaries say no.
