I hear ya... Lhainor did get an attack roll... he just missed and I sort of smoothed it out in the narration rather than saying he missed. I'll try to make it more clear going forward

Round 5-6

With her cat-like reflexes, Nimh spins and backhands the zombie attacking Moony with her mace (2 damage)), sending it sprawling to the ground (knocked down). Not expecting that, Moony's own attack on the zombie is spoiled. Nimh follows up, caving in the zombie's skull (4 damage).

Kohrek reaches down and picks up his sword his opponent recovers its balance. Theglid comes in to help him, striking at the zombie to no effect. Lhainor slices at the zombie, sending gore flying (2 damage)), just as Kohrek brings his sword up, slicing off the zombie's arm (4 damage). Between them, they send the zombie sprawling to the ground (knocked down). Kohrek then slices its other arm off (5 damage) and Lhainor cleanly decapitates it (1 damage).

The room is still, except for your labored breathing. The torches are sputtering... about to go out.
1: -8 vs Kohrek, Theglid, Lhainor
2: -13 (knocked down) vs Moony, Nimh

In the name of all that is holy, someone light a torch! Kohrek says, quietly.

When that is taken care of, Kohrek will loot the dead (again) zombies, if they have anything to loot.

Lhainor

If Nimh means search the room the zombies were in, Lhainor will assist (I think that gives us a better chance). If not, Lhainor will move back to the doorway leading to where we came in and stand guard in case anything else wanders in.

Can Lhainor see down the hall without a torch? Does that include zombies and other undead creatures (not sure how we're playing infravision)?

Date: June 2, 2:40 pm, Tuesday
Season: Early Summer
Light: Nimh's Torch (Expires 3:30 pm), Moony's torch (Expires 3:30 pm)
Moon phase: New Moon
Time since rest: 0
Location: Little Zombie room

The group, exhausted from several fights in only a few minutes, catches its breath in the little room in which they had found the zombies and mourns Fane's passing.

This room is 10 feet, east-west, and extends 10 feet to the north from here. On the northern half of the east wall, there is a door.

Lhainor can go back and look down the hallway, yes. We'll play it so that he can see things, including the undead, using this sight, which is a "darkvision" not "infravision". The rules do say that underground dwellers often prefer to have light, so lets say that you can't read regular writing with this sense, and though utilitarian, it is generally dull and lifeless compared to regular vision.

Nimh

Nimh will say a prayer over Fane's body and sprinkle it with holy water in an effort to prevent it from rising as undead. "We should lay him to rest in the nearest crypt."

Removed the holy water from my inventory, that was all I had.

Moony

Reflects on the death of his compatriot and how close he came to join him. Unable to intone any healing he binds his wounds as best he can.

He will check the larger room and the doors once again in case further threats seek to surround us.

Note: Since Nimh doesn't have any torches, I took a torch from Kohrek and a torch from Theglid... Assuming they went to Nimh and Moony,
as before...

In searching, you find that the zombies were dressed in faded green burial clothes, and this small 10x20 room had exposed ledges that they once lay on. The zombies don't have any riches, but they do have several indications that these men were once associated with Silvanus, the "Green Man". They have tattoos of the carved leaf face on their necks, and of crossed swords on their hands, indicating that they were once Rangers, in his service.

There is a door in the east wall of the little room.

The big room, 30x30, has doors in the north and southwest, which Moony confirms have not been tampered with. Lhainor is able to get out of the line of the torches and look down the east corridor. He sees that it extends more than the limits of his sight... 60 feet east. In the first 10 feet, there is a door in the north wall, the one you came through with the rats. Thirty feet further on, there is another door in the north wall, and ten feet beyond that, there is a wall in the south wall.

Lhainor

Looks like we have four options: the zombie room door where we are, or back the way we came in and to the north, the south, or further down that hall. Unless someone wants to bash in either of these stuck doors, which I do not suggest (too many wandering monster rolls with that). What do we want to do?

Kohrek nods at Nimh’s suggestion. The big cat speaks truly. Let us try the door.

You open the door in the northern part of the east wall of the zombie room...

You find a similarly-sized 10x20 room. It extends 10 feet to the east, and 20 feet north-south. You have entered in the north half of the room.

In the southern half of the room, you see four pedestals, two on the east wall, two on the west wall. Ancient, dusty funerary boxes of black velvet rest on the pedestals, four in total. They are covered in cobwebs. That and the dust suggest that they have been here for a while.

Kohrek walks to (closest funerary box) and opens it.

Nimh

Nimh will pick up one of the boxes and examine it, if she doesn't find anything she will open it up. She will go for the closest to Kohrek, so they can use the same torch light.

Theglid will take a third box, first poking it with his mace to make sure it's safe.

Lhainor

Lhainor will stand guard, keeping a wary eye for wandering monsters, summoned creatures, secret doors disgorging attacking creatures into the room and all that.

Inside each of the boxes, you find two things:

The remains of what looks to be a complete skeleton.

A black, velvet glove. On the back of the glove, there is a decoration of a demonic face, with eyes near the knuckles. The opening of the glove (where the hand goes) is the mouth of the face.

Moony

talk of bashing doors. If the door in the SW corner of the 30'sq room remain stuck, then it is possibly wedged also from the other side. "Shall we lay Fane to rest upon one of the niches here." he asks. What is useful among Fanes' equipment that we can use, lanterns, oil?
