Re: Ch. 2: Highway to Hell?
Malibran curses lightly under his breath but with a smug look at Odillo seeming to say 'I told you so'. "Let us continue as we had planned - towards the middle corridor as suggested and out of this rougher water"
With a quiet prayer to Pholtus, Malibran prays for healing to shake off the watery blow - and, to be honest, to mend his pride.
Cure Light Wounds [1d8] = 3

Re: Ch. 2: Highway to Hell?
Just to clarify: "the water draws you forward" means down the left hallway, toward the fore of the ship. If you want to try to go to the middle branch, you'll need to start paddling back the other way toward the big room, which is what you were trying to do when you got stopped.

Tanner
Wedging the torch in a convenient knothole, Tanner nocks an arrow on his bow and lays it across his knees. He studies the walls and the 'canal' ahead, trying to anticipate trouble.

Xale Mav; Dwarven Warrior-Priest of Dalt
Xale sighed and just said, mostly to himself; "Sometimes blessed Dalt, we don't need puzzles to solve or locks to figure out....we just need open doors. Any such aid would be welcome in this strange place we find ourselves in". With that, the Dwarf will bring the paddle back into the boat, hopeing that the current will now move them in the 'correct' manner; towards the left hallway....

Odilo stops trying to fight the water and lets the water guide them.

Hallagad, against his better judgement, allows the whim of the waters to carry his craft where it may.

Thwarted by the water that works against you—and hits back—you collectively shrug and allow the water to take you where it wants you to go. Malibran heals a few of his wounds from the water, though the healing force is weak this far from his god.
Only a few feet down the corridor later, the lead boat plunges over the edge of a waterfall! What a moment ago appeared to be water flowing down an endless hallway reveals itself to be a deep dead end shaft into which the water plunges. Malibran, Khogeki, Odilo, Xale, Rool, Hallagad, and your boat begin to fall into a pit that is deeper than any of your lights reach.
Risdac and Tanner, in the trailing boat, only see the lead boat disappear into the water. To them, the corridor still seems to continue as far as they can see. They will reach the spot where the first boat had been in a few seconds.

Beware, Tanner! Something isn't right. I'm not sure where the other boat is, but I feel we will find out quite soon.
When the boat falls, Risdac will grab Tanner, telling him, Hang on tight! He will allow them to plummet until he can see the end of the descent or hear the others reach the end, at which point he will cast Feather Fall.

Hallagad was never fond of heights. Or water, for that matter. He grips the side of the boat, trying to sound confident as he says "Perhaps this is our entry into hellllllll....."

Odilo "Well that was unexpected to say the least." Crap which boat am I in the one with feather fall being cast on it or the other one?

Rool Diov, Urban Rouge
Rool laughs out loud at their predicament, convinced that there is some order (and reason) to this potential death-fall. He grabs the back edge of the boat to avoid falling out of their conveyance.

Re: Ch. 2: Highway to Hell?
Malibran curses the predicament and thinks, fruitlessly, that he knew something like this was going to happen. He clutches his shield and mace tight and whispers a prayer to Pholtus for safe...passage.
Re: Ch. 2: Highway to Hell?
The lead boat tips over the edge of the falls into a pit, the depth of which none of the riders yet knows. Hallagad and Rool try to hold on to the boat as it tips nose first and falls down the shaft. Malibran curses; Rool laughs. The passive monk is content to "ride" a boat that is, for this moment, not providing anything like a seat.
"Well, that was unexpected—" starts Odilo. His observation goes unfinished. The boat and its occupants—some having been tossed from the boat, others clinging to it by one hand—smash into icy water. After a fall of a hundred feet, the water is as soft as a stone bat to the face. The boat smashes to bits and its occupants fare only a little better (Malibran: -36 HP; Khogeki: -27 HP; Rool: -29 HP; Odilo: -28 HP; Xale: -27 HP; Hallagad: -17 HP). Though they are each unarmored or clad in magic armor that would allow them to swim, their weapons, packs, and other gear begin to pull them under the water.
Risdac is prepared when the boat he and Tanner are riding in plunges over the falls. The boat falls only for a second before the giant wizard sees the bottom, where the others sink or swim. Risdac speaks but a word and the boat floats gently to the water below, where it alights, keel down, with Risdac and Tanner still in it.
A powerful force pulls everything—you, the water, and the remaining boat—toward a gaping black hole in the port side of the shaft. Your lights do not penetrate it.

Malibran, thankful to Pholtus for blessing him with continued life, forces down some of his levitation potion to escape the water.
