Thanks for the clarification Zhym - that is immensely helpful.

I think visiting Emerikol is a must to advance the story - that and I'm personally super interested in meeting this guy:)

With that being said, I think using a wish to improve one of our spells is the way to go. Two options maybe I would propose:

1) Teleport - use that to improve our teleportation accuracy and maybe the # that can join the magic-user casting the spell. We don't know what's on the other side, so a few others to help would be a must i think.

2) Wind Walk - We could try to improve the resilience of those that are under the influence of the wind walk spell. In addition, could take 2 people with us and would have duration to further take advantage of this spell should it be needed.

Other ideas?

I've never messed too much with magic in D&D- but wouldn't the MetalStorm be fatal to anyone trying to _wind walk_? I thought high winds would shred the walker.

I think this metal storm is not to be trifled with - 30years old and huge. I agree that wind walk would be a bigger risk versus a teleport spell even with some hopeful wishing assistance. I think we should wish for the following: I wish for this group of # adventurers present here to teleport safely into a central location of the metal storm safely on solid ground.

What do you think? Don't want to ask for too much but to get us past this rather formidable obstacle may be a necessity to advance our agenda.

Sounds like a viable wish. We probably want to do what we can to protect ourselves, in case there isn't an 'eye' to the Storm. Hunker down, shields overhead, etc.

Does anyone have the ability to do this? If so, it couldn't hurt to try.

If there isn't an eye, we will be ground to pulp.

Sorry no Silence spell on Odilo. I'm going to go over my magic items again and re-read the descriptions to make sure i am not missing something right beneath my own nose.

FYI, I keep a list of everyone's prepared spells here: viewtopic.php?f=489&t=6556#p306723. Feel free to refer to it OOC (though IC, of course, your PCs won't necessarily know what other spellcasters prepared each day).

Malibran has Silence 15' prepared twice. But as the "15'" part indicates, it would only create silence within a 15-foot radius. Silencing an entire mile-wide storm would be an impressive feat.

Can we just wish that Emirikol is teleported next to us?

Just in case he's not in the maelstrom, or there is no hollow space at its center.

That's a fair question. My assumption is that there is a center as what other reason would we be here for. Is it accidently hard for us to get to him or is he just an asshole? :)

Referring back to his note it does say that he'll only give the answer to those who ask in person - it doesn't say anything about where we ask him. Following that thread, do we wish for him to be teleported to us - and maybe be super duper pissed off as are things tend to be that you rip from their (assumed) homes, or do we teleport there and surprise him in god's knows what awkward position (and piss him off again).

With that being said, it is a good point to ask the wish differently. Again open to suggestions - sorry to Zhym and others if we are taking to long to make the decision! One wrong move and we could be pulp tho! I'm sure we'll have plenty of opportunity for that if we make it much further.

I wish for this group of # adventurers present here to teleport safely and respectfully to the entrance of Emerikol's lair

Methinks he's an asshole.
Who else would send a note like that? :)

Rule one of dealing with assholes: Never ask if they are, in fact, an asshole.

I vote we try and see if somehow we can get the asshole teleported to us.

I'm cool with that....and I finally had a chance to check out the Cube of Force my character has.....if I'm reading it right, I can use it to protect a group of people within a 10 foot radius of the Cube.....though for a limited time, partly dependent on what I want it to protect us FROM.

The Cube has 36 charges which can be used in a day....it will recharge each day.

To protect from just gasses, wind and non-living matter: 2 charges per Turn at a maximum movement rate of 8'' per Turn

To protect from living mater, along with non-living matter, gasses and wind: 3 charges per Turn at a maximum movment rate of 6'' per Turn.

To protect from all of the above AND magic: 4 charges per Turn at a maximum movement rate of 4" per Turn

To protect from EVERYTHING: 6 charges per Turn at a maximum movement rate of 3'' per Turn.

To me; if the Wish doesn't work and we use the Cube...the Questions are "how far do we go into it" and "at what level do we use the Cube's protection"....I'd vote for the 4 charges per Turn....and go in just enough to yell out a question to this assho-...I mean Emirkol. :)

Yeah that cube very well could help us indeed in this situation.
