OOC Discussion and Table Talk
Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
Yeah, that's pretty much a Doctor Who reference. I do change a few things from the module.

Ah good so it's not just me that throws in some things here and there from other interests

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
Using my experience from video game modifications, I’ve begun to incorporate “mods” into RPG modules. I’ve almost always changed names and settings to match my campaign world, but modding is changing the maps and/or encounters so people who have played the module before are able to enjoy a new experience and surprises.

I still need a marching order please. Or else I'll make one up.
Also: no comments on Lord Alethan, with his dragon (or duck) heraldry?

I was laughing on the inside.

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
Second-lowest AC in the group and his big damage is hand to hand and the monk wants to be in the middle? :p

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
Malibran will happily pray for healing from the rear- or he can hopefully stand a charge for a hit or three if that's the will of the group!

Re: Ch. 2: Highway to Hell?
Zhym - FYI - in your status it says that Hallagad cast Pfe, 10'. I know that Malibran casts a PfE on himself and I don't think Hallagad did.
Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
Fixed. Hallagad's effect is for his paladin aura.
Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
Rool will take the back position.

Yeah but he knows violence isn't the answer.Zhym wrote:Second-lowest AC in the group and his big damage is hand to hand and the monk wants to be in the middle? :p
How about this, guys?
A. Tanner and Hallagad upfront. Javelin of Lightning and Hammer of Thunderbolts for missiles. Frost brand and Holy Avenger for up close. Both have great AC and HP.
B. Second row is the two MUs for offensive spells.
C. Third row is Rool the thief and Xale the F/C.
D. Rear guard is the monk and Malibran.
I could also see: A, D, B, C
Thoughts?
Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
I'm cool with wherever.
Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
Rool and Malibran both volunteered for rear guard. This version accommodates that:
Tanner (F), Hallagad (P)
Xale (FC), Khogeki (M)
Risdac (MU), Odilo (MU)
Malibran (C), Rool (T)
But Malibran's -13 AC might warrant he and Xale switching places. Just a thought.

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
Two quick things....
1: I thought the Alethan 'Duck/Dragon' thing was hillarious!
2: I thought -10 AC was the best you could have in 1E?

Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
Good question about AC. I'll check on that. Do you have page references or anything?
Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
No, I'm at work....but I'll take a gander tonight or at some point over the weekend.....I THINK I remember that as the rule....but then again, maybe it was just a House Rule or a rule out of 2nd Edition (which I've played/run more than 1st) and I'm mixing them up; etc.
Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
I've always thought the 1e range was 10 to -10.
Re: OOC Discussion and Table Talk
Okay, I didn't have time to do a really thorough check of my DMG; but all the attack matrices stop at AC -10 and the conversion tables for Gamma World, Boot Hill to AD&D and vice versa only go up to -10; so I'm guessing that's where I got that impression....though, I suppose if it doesn't say anywhere that 'Armor Class can't go below -10'; then it's a DM's call. I'm cool either way.
