Hmm. His sheet says 16th level. I hope I'm wrong here. :)

You're right. 2,750,002 XP puts him at level 16, with 17 hit dice.

Looking at Xale's ineffectiveness (sorry), I noticed a couple of things we should probably clean up.

First, just to clarify, although it's on Xale's sheet as a "war hammer," it's a hammer. AD&D 1e doesn't have a "war hammer," it has a lucern hammer (which is a pole-arm weapon) and a "hammer." It's pretty clear from Xale's sheet that he has the latter. I don't think that requires changing anything—just clarifying.

Second, the throwing hammer does double damage, not double dice of damage. So it should do (1d4+1)*2 + 2 (spec.) + 3 (weapon bonus) + 6 (Gauntlets of Ogre Power) = (1d4+1)*2 + 11 vs. size S/M and 1d4*2 + 11 vs. size L. But the US dice roller can't handle that many modifiers, so you can use the existing macro if you want, or something like [1d4+1]*2+11, in which case I'll do the math. Note that (1d4+1)*2 is a flat curve: totals of 4, 6, 8, or 10 each have a 1/4 probability. 2d4+2, which the roller can handle, has a 1/16 chance to total 4 or 10, a 1/8 chance of 5 or 9, a 3/16 chance of 6 or 8, and a 1/4 chance of 7.

In short, if I add the numbers correctly, the damage part of the macro should be either:

[1d4+1]*2 + 11 (S/M) / [1d4*2]+11 (L)
or
[2d4+13] (S/M) / [2d4+11] (L)

The first is BtB; the second is easier for the dice roller to handle but has a bell-type probability curve instead of the BtB flat curve.

Finally: Rate=of-fire improvements for specialization apply to hurled weapons. As a level 13 fighter, Xale attacks with the hammer 5 times every 2 rounds whether using it in melee or throwing it.

I rolled an attack for last round, then remembered that Xale rolled a fumble last round. I've edited last round's post so that Xale's fumble prevented him from getting any further attacks that round instead of hitting Hallagad.

Xale gets two more throwing attacks this round. Rex, you can make them, or I'll roll them if you don't get a chance.

Okay, that was a lot. Any questions?

One more thing:

After this next round, everyone is responsible for making sure they roll all the attacks they get per round. Use them or lose them. ;)

FYI, here's what I have for fighter attack rates:

Tanner: 2
Hallagad: 2
Xale: 5/2 with the dwarven throwing hammer; 2 otherwise

Xales 2nd attack (22 to hit, 21/19 to damage)

Hurl Dwarven Thrower [1d20+3] = 19+3 = 22 damage [1d4+1] = 4+1 = 5*2+11 / [1d4] = 4*2+11

3rd attack (16 to hit, 17/15 to damage)

Hurl Dwarven Thrower [1d20+3] = 13+3 = 16 damage [1d4+1] = 2+1 = 3*2+11 / [1d4] = 2*2+11

Edit, I summarized since the macro didn't show the result but it shows written out so it is right there. Also, I wasn't complaining about the game, just my crappy rolling.

No worries. I didn't think you were complaining about the game.

Those extra rolls should help. :)

All,

I decided to advance another round tonight. Because the monsters won initiative and did enough damage, Hallagad's roll wouldn't have mattered either way. :/

Yow. So many friends in need of help.
Which of the monsters can Khogeki reach in order to melee attack it this round, please, with or without a "charge?"

Thanks.

Khogeki can attack the gargoyle-ish monster without charging. With a charge, he can reach either of the toad-man monsters. The vulture thing is on a ledge 30' or so above him, so if he really wants to target it I'd have to decide whether it's possible to "charge" by flying. ;)

He shakes his head and works his jaw, trying to clear his ears enough to concentrate on anything else.
A quick note on this—Tanner can act this round. The screech stunned him for one round. Because he lost his attack last round, he'll be able to act this round.

Thanks. Looks like Rool is in the most danger, only because Risdac's and Hallagad's foes have been engaged by Malibran and Xale. Yikes.

A shape change takes one round. Rool will be able to ooze free next round.
Per the 4th level MU spell, Polymorph Self, a shape change takes 5 segments. Does the potion work different?

I have a few healing spells left I'm trying to save for after the battle to get some folks up to full hps (2 folks i can 'heal' and have a couple of CSW left too). I'll be spent of healing after that though. We may want to consider resting a little?

I think I noticed that one of those bastards teleported out or something? He may either fleeing to save his own skid or going to get help. Our luck? he's going to bring back his big brother!

Oh, right. I was thinking of the druid shape-changing ability, which doesn't have a set time BtB.

5 segments has the same effect as a full round, though, in terms of combat timing. Even if PCs roll a 6 for initiative and monsters roll a 1, a change in shape won't be complete by the time the monsters can act on the old shape. In this case, the monsters won initiative 3-2, which means the toadude got his squeeze and bite attack in before Rool could start changing.

Also, trying to break out with strength (rolling for it) and changing shapes are two different actions. I played that as trying and failing to break free (action on initative), followed by the beginning of changing shapes.

Rool will be amoeba-like at the start of the next round.
