4C character conversion stats

#1 Post by Rukellian »

Here is how the primary and secondary traits will be turned into Gurps style stats:

Melee and Brawn ----> Strength (ST) The higher of your two scores divided by 10 is how many points will be added to your starting stat of 10.
Example: 40 Melee and 10 Brawn would be a ST stat of 14

Coordination ----> Dexterity (DX) Divide coordination by 10 and add the result to a starting value of 10 to determine your dexterity.

Intellect ----> Intelligence (IQ) Follow the same formula as above.

Fortitude ----> Health (HT) Not to be mistaken with hit points, which is coming up next.

Damage ----> Hit Points (HP) Your starting HP is based off of your ST stat. Using the formula up above for Damage conversion, add the result to your current HP.

Awareness ----> Perception (Per) Your starting Per is based off of your IQ stat. Converting Awareness to Perception will follow the same formula up above, rounding up the result if you have to.

Willpower ----> Willpower (Will) Your starting Will is based off of your IQ stat. Follow the same formula as Awareness.

There is no 4C version of Fatigue Points (FP) so here is how you calculate it GURPS style. Your starting FP is based off of your HT stat.

Your Fortune stat means nothing in this game, but your Lifestyle can be converted into one of the Wealth categories in Gurps. The wealth levels supported by Gurps will only go up to large nation in 4C. So anything 100+ will be brought down to 99.

Lifestyle ----> Gurps Wealth levels:
1-2 in 4C is the Dead Broke Disadvantage in Gurps
3-5 in 4C is the Poor Disadvantage
6-9 in 4C is the Struggling Disadvantage
10-19 in 4C is the Average state of wealth
20-29 in 4C is the Comfortable Advantage
30-39 in 4C is the Wealthy Advantage
40-49 in 4C is the Very Wealthy Advantage
50-74 in 4C is the Filthy Rich Advantage
75-99 in 4C is the Multimillionaire Advantage

Skills in 4C are easily carried over, as well as abilities, though the ranks of your powers will reflect differently in Gurps in terms of how many points are put into it to make it stronger. We will go over this later.
Even a child that receives one bit of praise has the ability to excel in a single talent, and those who receive regular encouragement can feel confidence, achieve success, and become leading members of society. Because they don’t believe they are worthless, they don’t need to raise a fist and have vengeance against fate or the world at large… ~Inspector Lunge

Note that the above conversions are not set in stone. Since we are in the middle of character creation, you can tweak the above values to your liking, in the Gurps format of course.
