The meeting has been arranged, as well as the location, neutral territory. Vorpal's men have gone out ahead to stake out the area, but Vorpal himself has some reservations about this. A gut feeling. "That was way too easy. Fish don't normally bite the bait so quickly. This is a trap if I've ever seen one."

Hot Streak nods agreeing with Vorpal "I'm not one to argue with your gut feeling Vorp. I've the same feeling I have a bad feeling we may be going to meet someone we already have met before. We should have gone to the meeting local and setup our own trap. Perhaps we can arrange a new meeting spot call your men back. Lets arrange for a different space that is a bit more in our favor." the pyro smiles with a wicked look in his eyes.

Area Knowledge skill check, Gurps Skill Roll [3d6] = 17 against IQ at a minus 4 penalty.

Vorpal does not know of a suitable location for a new meeting place, nor does his men for that matter. Their knowledge of the Industrial Zone of Atlas City only extends so far.

In order to sweeten the deal in your favor, you may have to pass a Fast Talk skill check or a Merchant skill check since this is a 'business' arrangement. (Both are IQ -5 default skills)

The person from Rook Industries is very reluctant to go along with your suggestion, but he eventually agrees to meet on your terms. His only condition was that he would be allowed to bring men of his own to ensure his safety, should any heroes get wind of their meeting.

Hot Streak agrees to the mans terms and again makes sure Vorpal have his men get to the building and secure it with the two super villains.

For Monsieur:

Quick recap below
You start regaining consciousness after some time. You are no longer in a van but in an area filled with lights. The place is clean and orderly. To your left is a monitor with cables attached to your body. You hear the familiar sound of medical equipment beeping in the background. This confirms it. You must have been moved to a hospital, one that isn't on fire.

After looking around the room, your attention is directed towards a voice.

"He's awake!" A nurse leaves the room and comes back with a couple of heroes in tow.

"Hey, Geodan, how you feeling man?"

"Seriously, you took that blast back there like a boss, not to mention saving a civvy too!"

The two heroes know you, and you remember them, through your host's memories. You are a member of a super group that they belong to, Pillars of Earth.

Vincent as "Geodan"

Well, crap. At least he's finally conscious. Ok then, this one should prove fun.

Geodan groans a bit, coughs, and winces from the phantom pain. "Hey guys, what'd I miss?" He tries to reach up and touch his head. "How long have I been out? The last thing I remember is that building falling."
and now for the response.
"They didn't say exactly, only that they found you at the memorial blast site. You must of have been out cold since then."

"It's been bloody chaos out there! Nothing ever happens in the heart of Atlas City. 'Too safe everyone says, nobody has the balls to do anything, everyone says!' Well now, ALL OF A SUDDEN, we are dealing with a terrorist attack at a memorial, at a police station and at a hospital, all at once. How crazy is that?"

One of the Pillars of Earth reaches forward to try to stop you from getting up. "Easy there bud. You've just woken up and are still recovering from your building collapse. Our group has been deployed to help out where we can. We've got this. Just came by to check up on you is all, but we can't stick around for long."

"People to save." One of them chimes in.

"Right." The other agrees with a quick nod.

For GreyWolfVT:

Because you were able to decide where the meeting will take place, I will let you choose a location. A general description is all I need (Ex: junkyard, construction site, old reactor plant, grocery store...)

The meeting place will be an old office building that a gang once used to use for a hangout spot but now is abandoned.

Vince as Geodan

He smiles weakly at the man, but gently brushes his hand aside. "I can recover when this is over. At least let me go with you. Who knows? I might have to shield you from a building collapse. I think I'm getting the hang of it, just need a bit more practice."

Geodan tries to get up and put his feet on the ground.

For Monsieur:

The members of the supergroup look towards one another to see if this was okay. After a few moments of silent, and not so silent, deliberation, they agree to take you with them.

"You always were a quick one to bounce back, Geodan. Just don't overdo, 'kay?"

"Yeah, Ms. Rhinestone would have our hides for sure if we let you die."

Some of them laugh, much to the nurse's dismay. "But seriously," he then says with a straight face, "don't die."

The group of heroes was on their way to a warehouse that was just set on fire. The memorial site, the police station, and then the hospital. Someone pieced together that it may be connected and that this warehouse fire wasn't random either. The Pillars of Earth were sent out to investigate.

The images above represent the condition of the office building and the scarcity of furniture available, a sizeable and pretty out of the way place to be sure. Multiple stories and plenty of areas to plant hidden men for ambushes. Of course, the Rook Industries agent will also take this into consideration when he brings his own 'protection'. Vorpal's men, however, have the advantage, this being part of their home turf.

The Rook Industries contact arrives on time, escorted by his own entourage of men. He looks around with alert eyes and gives a curt nod. "Let's go inside," he suggests. "It's a bit too cold for my tastes, this morning air."

Dressed in a crisp business suit, the slender man adjusts his tie and looks away, continuing his scan of the area. He is found wearing black gloves and a rook industries breather mask, the ones commonly worn by power plant engineers. A suitcase hangs from his other hand, handcuffed to his wrist. The guards that accompany him are few in number but are not to be taken lightly. Sporting standard issue Rook Industries armaments, the four men standing by are more than capable of dealing with any heroes that would interrupt the negotiations. They casually look at Hot Streak when he greets the contact.

"Rook Industries will compensate you well for your contribution. We understand that a group of your operations can only achieve so much with a limited budget. We can provide you with that budget, and perhaps, more resources in the future if my employers deem you worthwhile." The masked man hefts the suitcase up for emphasis and lays it on a nearby counter/table. "But first we must confirm you do in fact have the firearm that was advertised. I'm sure you can understand that we cannot leave empty-handed." The guards behind him remain silent while holding their positions, but you get the feeling that they have no problem gunning you down if given the proper signal. That's the professional aura they seem to exude.

Hot Streak smiles "Very well, what if I wanted to keep the firearm? What then will Rook Industries do to me? Or shall I take by the men by you that gunned down is the likely outcome from such and action on my part?" pausing snapping his fingers to have one of the men bring forth the gun "If you will please bring for the firearm." another of Vorpal's men comes out with the firearm but stays back far enough so that the masked man can see it but not take it immediately. "I have yet more news what if I could tell Rook Industries whom is responsible for the creation of the firearm? What might the offer be then?"

Victor as Geodan

Upon arrival at the warehouse, Geodan moves slowly about. He's trying to stay near the others and learn more about them, like names. He'll also try to use some of his powers, just as a test run.

The Rook Industries contact, his face is hard to discern under the mask he wears, but judging by the tone of voice he responds in, you can't help but picture a raised eyebrow and wary smile. "You definitely like to play with fire, Hot Streak, but I can also see that you are not an unreasonable man. Yes, such information would be most welcome. Confirming the firearm is indeed under your 'care' is preferable to not seeing it all. However, understand that if we do not walk away with said firearm in tow, you cannot expect any immediate assistance from us in the form of currency or other resources. At this point, this looks to be nothing more than an information exchange."

The contact hefts the suitcase off the table/counter and motions for his men to gather closer as if preparing to leave. "Well, you know what we want to know. What is it that you want from us? You've been very vague at this point and if you are expecting us to just shower you with gifts, you have another thing coming."

-----

As Geodan explores the warehouse with members of his supergroup, he gets a feel for their names and abilities, as well as his own. Ms. Rhinestone appears to be a leader in the group, not currently with them, but someone they never want to piss off when returning back home. Geodan himself was a new recruit to the group but showed great promise as a 'tank', someone who could take the damage and send it back when needed. Sand Drift, the quiet one of your current investigative team seems to rely on sand-based techniques. She would send a small cloud out and disperse it into a room and bring it back in a matter of seconds. The sand acted as a form of echolocation and provided an accurate map of whatever the sand was able to touch.

Finding that the warehouse inside did not have any movement, Granite, another member of our small team, flexed his muscles and turned himself into a golem of rock. Big and sturdy he does a quarterback slam into the warehouse's front doors and bursts through. His role in combat was simple and easily understood. Transform. Smash.

As you all entered the thoroughly burnt warehouse, you find signs of combat. You're not sure how old it was, but the creatures inside are nothing like you've ever seen before. The term zombie comes to mind, but the things you see seem more crystalline upon closer observation. A dark shade of sickly green, a certain level of radiation seems to drift off of the corpses. You feel sick standing by the things for too long.

Sand Drift finds more of the creatures further back into the warehouse and eventually stumbles across a large pile of rubble. You are no expert, but even you can figure out the pile was caused by explosives, the surrounding walls, and ceilings telling as such. Shrike, the final member of your group, keeps watch of the area, ready to shoot anything that moves. His words, so you assume he must be some sort ranged specialist.

Your abilities come back to you rather quickly. You are able to draw upon the natural strengths of your environment and use it bolster your own physical abilities. Lay a hand on the concrete floor, your hands are now made of concrete. Want to have skin as thick as stone? All you have to do is pat Granite's back. Move gracefully like sand? Find a beach or just Sand Drift. You get the idea, and the possibilities seem endless until you realize that it only works on things related to the ground. Apparently, you can't interact with water or plants in the same way, nor can you become something metal.

"That can be arranged," states the Rook Industries contact. "If you can point us towards who made it in the first place, and your information holds true, we can guarantee you access to the next generation of rifles we make based off of that design. Of course, production of said weapons would be expedited if we had something to actually work with." He looks towards the rifle you showed him as if reinforcing what he wants out of this deal.

He places the suitcase back on the counter/table and pops it open after putting in a long code. There is heavy machinery inside, top-grade, and it hums with activity. "I can have a contract printed out within seconds if these terms are favorable."

Hot Streak motions for the gang member to hand over the firearm "As you wish. The creator of this weapon and some very super troll looking creatures is a mad scientist by the name of Symboisis I suspect he has moved here from his remote island lab taking over some of the area near Rook Industries found a warehouse full of the creatures and these weapons as well. It lead to the sewers and I under heavy pursuit decided to grab the weapon and bring the building down. For the good of the people." the pyro tries to make his deeds honorable though mostly being a roguish one time hero now sort of villainous vigilante "I do wish I could give you a better description of the exact location but I am seeking that out still." stated honestly oddly enough finding the truth the best use in the current negotiations. "Now how about that contract?" he smiles at the man in the mask as he hands him the weapon, and signals for Vorpal to enter the room "Of course I'd like to have it that you will not deter me and my men in searching for ourselves to locate Symboisis. We in turn will relay that intel if we find him first to you, as well as arming our men here with more of these weapons. I won't care one bit if you produce them for your own men or even to make a profit. Hell I'd admire that of you for surely that is part of your intent."
