Despite the dangerous circumstances, Toldren smothers a grin behind his hand at the description of a thrown crowbar to the back of the head as...unpleasantness.

* Beefheart checks under the table, looking for adversaries, and sees nothing but an empty stone floor.

* Timmy peers around the corner in the north. He sees an empty alcove created by a wooden wall closing off a 10ft wide corridor. A simple wooden door is set into the center of the wall.

* Irakas tries talking to the foul creature. It seems to respond to his voice by tilting its head and looking in Irakas’ direction with its milky, glazed eyes. The man-thin lets out a gibbering moan and then takes a swing at the Halfling, but swipes near and misses. The decrepit man increases the pitch of its babble.

Man Thing = [1d20-1] = 9-1 = 8, [1d4-1] = 2-1 = 1 dmg.

Timmy moves up closer to the door, listening carefully to see if there is any noise coming from the other side.

Miss Cleo continues to hope the unconscious wake up soon so they can all rejoin the others.

Quill stays where he is to be able to see both groups of the party at once. He is nervous about the violence in the large dining room.

Toldren stays out of sight behind the column for the time being, waiting to hear from Timmy what is around the corner to the north.

Kid Crimson grips his crowbar and says, "Alright Brainless, that's it! Strike three!" He attempts to clobber the foul creature.

K.C. Init've [1d20-1] = 12-1 = 11, Crowbar [1d20-1] = 9-1 = 8, Damage [1d4-1] = 1-1 = 0

Beefheart still hasn't clued in and moves to attack the northeast pillar. He kicks it and wrestles with it in his berserk rage.

Irakas is offended. "I was negotiating in good faith!" His return stroke is thrown off by his sense of victimization.

Sitrus smiles and says "Oh you've done it now boyo." He swings once again at the man-thing with his shovel.

Sitrus: To Hit: [1d20-1] = 4-1 = 3 Damage: [1d4-1] = 1-1 = 0

Toross, unsure of what he should do, follows Sitrus's lead.

Toross: To Hit: [1d20] = 4 Damage: [1d4] = 1

* Timmy moves and listens at the door, trying to hear any sounds from the other side. He cannot detect anything over the sounds of combat with the man-thing.

* Kid swings and hits the creature with his crowbar for 1 point of damage. The crowbar bounces off the things foul arm and it continues to shuffle.

* Beefheart scrambles to the northeast pillar and attacks the post with his hammer. As he strikes the column, he hears the sound of something loose rattling.

* Irakas swings his short sword into the cloaked figure, but hits only clothing.

* Sitrus assaults with his shovel and Toross pummels with his staff, but the dwarf and elf miss their target.

The creature swings again at Irakas, but hits himself for 2 points of damage. The man-thing stumbles forward and lands on his side, prone.

Man Thing = [1d20-1] = 2-1 = 1, [1d4-1] = 3-1 = 2 dmg.
Man Thing fumble = [1d16] = 1

Toldren comes from behind the pillar and heads to the fracas. He proceeds to chop with his sword in an attempt to take thing's leg off. At least this may make things a little more manageable.

damage [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5

Timmy looks all around the door to see if he can spot anything that doesn't look right to him. He then tries the handle to see if it is locked or if it will open freely.

Miss Cleo grows tired of waiting on the others to awaken so she creeps back up the steps with her back to the west wall to see if there is any action happening in the last room.

Kid Crimson, enthused by his successful performance so far, continues to assault the villain.

K.C. Init've [1d20-1] = 7-1 = 6, Crowbar [1d20-1] = 4-1 = 3, Damage [1d4-1] = 4-1 = 3

Beefheart is yanked from back to reality like an enraged bull whose toreador has disappeared. He clops the pillar experimentally with his weapon a couple of times to locate the hollow area, then tries prodding and pulling, and twisting stones around it.

* Toldren leaves the cover of the pillar and swings into action, slicing into the creature’s legs for 5 points of damage! The man-thing falls over to one side and its body bursts open releasing a humanoid-shaped light that sinks into the floor.

Toldren = [1d20+1] = 14+1 = 15

* Timmy jostles the crude handle/latch mechanism on the door, and it opens away from the room into a 10ft wide, dark corridor.

* Miss Cleo makes her way back up the stairs into the altar room, watching for any signs of activity.

* Kid Crimson and Irakas hold their attack upon seeing the humanoid creature fall limp to the ground.

* Beefheart chops, prods, pulls and twists on the column and then notices a section of the northeast wall has extruded out from the wall’s surface.

Kid Crimson looks smug at having handled that combat so bravely. "Hey, I know: let's see if he's got anything on him. I bet he's hiding some incrementing evidence, or whatever it's called." He starts to rifle through the guy's robes with intent.

Beefheart grows suddenly unsure of himself, but his curiosity wins out and he steps cautiously toward the extrusion in the northeast wall. Gingerly, as though expecting it to be hot to the touch, he tries to remove or manipulate the block side to side.

Toldren wants nothing to do with sifting through the rotting corpse. He backs away and then goes to Timmy to see what is beyond the newly opened door.

Quill keeps whispering to Miss Cleo to get her to come back and stay with the group. Seeing that is futile, he creeps back up the stairs partway to see what he can do to keep the unconscious comfortable and wake them if possible. He examines them to see what wounds he may be able to clean as well.

Miss Cleo stays put, hoping to spot something interesting that might be following the group.

Timmy pushes the door open to get a better look. He whispers to the others now that he sees the fighting is over.
"Hey everyone. There is another passage this way. Anyone got a light?"

Toldren had the linen that helped make the torches so I assume he has a torch and a light? If so then...

Toldren will relight his torch and hold it ahead to see what is beyond the opened door.

* Kid rifles through the tattered, rotten clothing of the man-thing. The clothes tear and fall off the body as Kid goes through the pockets. He finds nothing of value or interest.

* Beefheart tries to manipulate the loose block, and it pivots with ease and opens into the room revealing a dark, 5ft wide corridor.

* Timmy pushes the wooden door open and asks for a light. Toldren obliges him.

* Toldren ignites his torch and enters the corridor to illuminate what is beyond. The corridor extends 60ft to the limits of vision. Several side passages are evident from the dark shadows along the sides of the hall.

Kid Crimson grows bored of the dead bad guy and heads over to Timmy and Toldren. "Hey guys, what's going on over here?"

Beefheart has lost all focus with the rest of the group, and is now preoccupied with the secret door. Using his dwarven sight, he peeks through and wanders cautiously down the hidden hallway.

Irakas wanders over to the newly found secret door. "You would only build a secret passageway like this if you were hiding something valuable." He smiles a little, greed getting the better of his fear.
