Sitrus, being a dwarf and without need of light, clops over to the waterfall, apparently deaf to the others' warnings. He takes a drink, rinses his dreadlocks, and then just decides to hop in and explore around. "Ahhh yeah. It ain't the beach, but it'll do in a pinch," he chuckles to himself.

Crimson, Beefheart and Toross wait where they are.

Toldren eyes the waterfall as it captures his interest. He keeps an eye on the impulsive dwarf, watching his splashing around.

Quill and Egburt stay where they are and watch the door.

Irakas watches Bugg examine the door, ready to help (or make a brave retreat) if danger appears.

Miss Cleo has heard that sometimes waters ponding in dungeons can be of the healing sort. She slowly moves closer to the waterfall, hoping to cure her current malady.

Timmy follows the group towards the door, ready to lend a hand if the need arises.

Symond stays put in the rear of the party, watching behind the group carefully and listening intently for anything that might be coming up on them from behind.

* Bugg cautiously moves north closer to the stone door, followed by Irakas and Timmy.

The stone door is a solid oval piece set into a frame anchored into the walls, floor and ceiling with the now familiar polygonal blocks. A protrusion is connected to the left side of the door at the height of a handle. Bugg pushes on the door to see if it will open, but it does not move.

DOOR:

* Sitrus tromps over to the waterfall and dips into the small, 4ft diameter pool and takes a drink. The water has a slight ‘green’ flavor to it, but is otherwise clear spring water. He puts his feet into the water that is only 6 inches deep, so he kicks about splashing some of the water onto the nearby floor. A tiny stream slowly carries the water east and around the corner of the narrowing passage.

* Toldren and Miss Cleo watch the dwarf splash about in the small pool and the fortune-teller ponders drinking the cave water.

* Symond regularly glances behind the group and stops to listen for any odd sounds in the trailing cavern passage.

Bugg places his hand on the protrusion, then on its side; if these have no effect, he pushes the protrusion on the side facing the door.

As Bugg manipulates the door protrusion, it rotates down and to the right. A noticeable "clunk" is heard and Bugg feels it through the door.

Toldren will walk over to glance down the narrowing passage on the far side of the waterfall. He makes sure to keep the others in sight.

Bugg tries pulling and pushing the handle now; if that doesn't work, pushing the door itself.

* Toldren moves forward, torch in hand, farther down the east passage. The stream of water continues away, around a corner and beyond his sight.

MAP:

* Bugg pulls and pushes on the handle, but the door does not budge. He pushes and then leans into the door, and it bumps open slightly but closes back against the frame.

Miss Cleo watches the actions of Sitrus closely, trying to judge if the water has any effect on him.

Timmy helps Irakas and Bugg push on the door.

If no one by the door has a torch then Toldren will move to help illuminate the door efforts.

* Bugg, Irakas and Timmy collectively push against the door. It opens about 3 inches and then closes back against the oval frame. The door feels heavy, but not immobile.

* Miss Cleo watches Sitrus splish and splash in the shallow pool. His appearance and health has not changed.

* Toldren walks up the north passage to illuminate the area around the stone door.

Sitrus is a little disappointed that the water is so shallow. He tries walking into the waterfall to see if he can shower himself, and checks to see if there are any openings behind it, then follows Toldren back to the door.

Toross, Kid Crimson and Beefheart all move up to the doorway and help push. "Maybe there's something propped up against it on the other side," one of them whispers.

Symond stays put, guarding against anything that might sneak up on the group from behind.

Miss Cleo tires of watching the water sprite and moves to the door to help the others. She offers up her crowbar again to use to prop open the door.
"If you jam this in the gap once it is partially opened, maybe that will hold it there long enough for us to sneak past."

Timmy takes the crowbar and accepts the help from the others. He pushes against the door again, this time propping the crowbar into the open gap to test if it will stay.

Sitrus moves towards the waterfall and starts to walk into it, but then decides to use his hands. The waterfall runs down the face of the cavern wall, and he probes behind the gentle, cascading water. To his disappointment, there are no voids behind the water barrier so he follows the caravan guard to the stone door in the north passage.

Toross, Kid Crimson and Beefheart take turns at the door, trying to push it open. The combination of 4 people (maximum possible against the door) provides the force necessary to swing the door open and overcome its counterweight.

Miss Cleo follows Sitrus to the north door. She offers up her crowbar just as the door is opened.

Timmy takes the crowbar and looks to see if he can place it between the open door and the stone frame.

The door opens to reveal a large irregular-shaped room lit by several oil lamps set into the polygonal masonry walls. The floor and ceiling of this room are also constructed with polygonal blocks. A stone door, similar to the one you just opened is 40 feet across from you. An odd-shaped pool is set into the floor 10 feet in front of the door. A bone white tapestry with crude, crimson glyphs covers the wall to the south. The room extends north 90 feet with blind spots from your perspective to the east and west.

Two large dogs with what appears to be dark gray, rotted skin are opposite the pool and begin barking.

To the north are sounds of chanting, and 5 cloaked figures stand around a strange altar holding a figure between two metal poles.

Beyond the altar, a huge, curved, panoramic window overlooks a scene with a swirling mass of colored smoke or vapor.

Timmy freaks out a little bit once he sees the others in the room. Things just got real up in here, he thinks to himself as he charges into the room, clearing the way for those behind him to follow suit. "Come on everybody! These have to be the people responsible for kidnapping the townies!!!" He rushes straight for the robed figures with Cleo's crowbar ready to strike.

The badly injured Miss Cleo stands right where she is in the tunnel, afraid to enter the room without some beef in front of her. She scoots out of the way quickly to let anyone pass that wants to enter the room.

Symond sees and hears the commotion of barking dogs coming from the doorway. He draws his dagger and rushes up to the backs of the others, hoping to get a better look inside. He thinks he has an idea. :?

Kid Crimson leaps into the room brandishing his weapons. "Playtime's over, freaks! Get 'em, guys!" He runs up closer to the pool and chucks his crowbar at one of the dogs, brandishing his sword in his other hand.
K.C. Init've [1d20-1] = 3-1 = 2, Crowbar [1d20-1] = 20-1 = 19, Damage [1d4-1] = 4-1 = 3
(Man! Somebody call the scout, this kid's got an arm!)

Beefheart stumbles in through the door and panics. He leaps up, kicked into action by Timmy's and Kid Crimson's exhortations, and reluctantly moves around the south side of the pool, swinging his hammer at one of the dogs.
Beefheart Init've [1d20-1] = 9-1 = 8, Hammer [1d20+1] = 6+1 = 7, Damage [1d4+1] = 2+1 = 3

Sitrus and Toross rush northward, hair flowing and hooves clopping heroically. They will engage together the nearest enemy that comes in range.
"For our families! For the village! Forward!"
"Alright, some action! Hang ten! Moooondoggyyyy!"
Toross Init've [1d20] = 9, Staff [1d20] = 6, Damage [1d4] = 2
Sitrus Init've [1d20-1] = 18-1 = 17, Shovel [1d20-1] = 15-1 = 14, Damage [1d4-1] = 3-1 = 2
