Chapter 24 - The Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, part 1
Re: Chapter 24 - The Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, part 1
Save v. Paralysis (7): [1d20+2] = 3+2 = 5
Do wisdom bonuses apply? Turns out it matters. If so, Ulster gets another +2 from Wisdom.

Ulster casts Faerie Fire on the police bots.

Grimes - Fighter
Save vs paralysis: [1d20] = 13 (+4 Halfling bonus = 17 total)
OOC: Not 100% sure on bonus, but I think that's correct. At any rate, the unmodified score is 13
IC:
Grimes snarls and says "I've had enough of you!" depending on the spell actions of the others and effects, he'll lunge at the nearest one with Wave.

These are ghouls. They hang out in graveyards, they have long tongues, and they eat people.

Re: Chapter 24 - The Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, part 1
Dieter save vs paralysis [1d20] = 2
No Cop, No Stop, round 1
A bluish light bathes over you. Dieter and Castinus freeze in place, like living statues although not turned to stone (they are no Shaes, it seems) and consciousness slips from them. Grimes, Ulster, Furuk, Dandy, and Algrim resist the strange light that felled their friends.
Initiative players [1d6] = 6, baddies [1d6] = 5
The players take the initiative. The druid speaks a charm and a pale glow of light blue surrounds the metal beings! Whelm clangs against the lead peace officer and flies off, returning to its master's hand, as Algrim and Grimes Wave attack [1d20+5] = 19+5 = 24 Wave dmg [1d10+3] = 9+3 = 12 get stabby! The half orc wades in Furuk Scimitar of Vorpal Slicing [1d20+5] = 19+5 = 24 dmg [1d8+5] = 2+5 = 7 and the creature's head is lopped off in a spout of sparks. The creatures limbs droop as it "dies".
You will neither harm nor decapitate a police robot! You are in direct violation of Penal Code 1.13, Section 9, one demands in a strange monotone!
It and its companion fire objects from their chests which hit the floor near you and begin spouting a gas into the air!
Please save vs Poison! If you make your save you can, of course, attack again!
Actions?
Hit points and marching order
Grimes 69/69

Re: Chapter 24 - The Expedition to the Barrier Peaks, part 1
The poison doesn't bother Ulster. He smelled much worse things in his life. Himself, more than once.
"Dieter! Zap the"—he cries, before realizing that the mage cannot move. "Oh, shucks."
He steps forward and twacks the demanding robot solidly with his staff.
Save v. poison (7): [1d20+2] = 20+2 = 22
Staff of the Woodlands +2 (THAC0 14): [1d20+4] = 20+4 = 24 [1d4+4] = 1+4 = 5
Is there a critical hit rule, I hope?

Grimes save vs poison [1d20] = 3 maybe I should have rolled for everyone
No Cop, No Stop, round 2
Grimes succumbs to the gas!
Initiative players [1d6] = 4, baddies [1d6] = 5
They refuse to be subdued. Use lethal force! says one who attacks (Robot1) who? [1d4] = 4 Algrim what? [1d6] = 3 with a red beam that emanates from its head. monster attack [1d20] = 13 dmg [2d8-1] = 11-1 = 10. Please save vs petrifiction, GreyWolfVT.
Too close for missiles, switching to guns, replies the other (Robot2) who attacks who? [1d4] = 2 Furuk with what? [1d6] = 3 a similar beam monster attack [1d20] = 3 but the half-orc dodges it!
Algrim strikes at Robot1, his spear denting it! Algrim smashes it with his staff, doing twice the damage he would otherwise! (Yes, there is double damage for crits)
Dandy goes for Robot2 since his foe is disabled! Furuk Scimitar of Vorpal Slicing [1d20+5] = 18+5 = 23 dmg [1d8+5] = 7+5 = 12 Furuk also hits it! (You can roll your own attacks, Craigers07)
Both metal creatures are damaged but not out of it. Speaking of out of it, Grimes, Castinus, and Dieter all are.
