Thurwin - Wizard

Satisfied, Thurwin stows his wand and tosses a bolt of energy at the Half Orc [1d20+1] = 4+1 = 5

Effric steps back, satisfied. "Wait for it, my friends...I do believe our half-orc will be incapacitated at any moment."

Calthas strikes again, putting aside all moral considerations about incapacitated enemies and all.

Darkness, My Old Friend - Round 8

Initiative players [1d6] = 5, baddies [1d6] = 6

The half orc disentangles himself from his armor heat metal [1d4] = 3 and is looking uncomfortable. The other guy is paralyzed.

Effric drags Tavin from the battle and heals Heal [1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2 the monk, who is still in rough shape.

Odo sticks the half-orc, which Bror doesn't. A bolt of eldritch energy flies misses its intended target firing into melee (hit own on 1-3) [1d6] = 6 and luckily everyone else too. Calthas Calthas broadsword [1d20] = 3, dmg [1d8] = 4 swings and misses. Sean PC attack [1d20] = 3 is also no use this round.

Disappointed at his own clumsiness, Calthas is decided to try harder. He attempts to strike again his foe.

Effric keeps his eyes on the half-orc, but stays back for now, letting his companions attack.

Darkness, My Old Friend - Round 9
Initiative players [1d6] = 4, baddies [1d6] = 5

The half orc attacks who? [1d4] = 1 Calthas monster attack [1d20] = 20 CRIT [1d10] = 1 with a savage blowdmg [1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2 + [1d6] = 2
ooo lucky. heat metal [2d4] = 7
The other is still paralyzed.

This time Bror strikes, Odo misses! Calthas calthas broadsword [1d20] = 19, dmg [1d8] = 4 retaliates and his foe dies by his sword!

Thurwin Thurwin dagger [1d20] = 13, [1d4] = 2 slips his dagger twixt the paralyzed man's armor, injuring him further.

Tavin Heal [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7 feels much better, thank you. Sean PC attack [1d20] = 19 finishes off the helpless cleric.

The room seems eerily quiet. The half orc is warm like an oven. Calmert is frozen in place.

Effric nods to Tavin. When the half-orc's armor cools, Effric will search him.

Bror wipes the blood and gore from Glimmer on the dead orc's clothing then helps search the defeated foes.

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin shakes his head as he surveys the carnage. "What a mess. Sean, nice work. Please keep watch and listen to see if we have anyone coming. Let me tend to poor Calmert."

Thurwin will go to Calmert and make sure he's okay. Unsure of what to do, he says to the others "Let's gather any loot and be on our way. We may have to carry good Calmert, as I have no way to aid him in this condition."

OOC: Let's do a thorough search and move to a secure location where we can rest and regain spells, HP and whatnot. These clowns must have some loot that's worth something.
What a battle.

Calthas wholeheartedly agrees. He tends to his own wound quickly, cleans his sword and help take care of Calmert.

The half-orc's armor is hot to the touch at first, so you focus on the other three. They indeed do "have some loot that's worth something."

The bugbear you killed in the small room outside has not much other than 12GP in a small sack, a morning star, and his cape of crimson.

One of the clerics wears a robe of deep crimson with a purple lining and gold trim; it has gold skulls on front, back, and sleeves. His gold fire symbol (on golden chain) is set with a nice ruby (jewelry value 2, 500 gp). He has a scroll of three spells in a tube at his belt, and carries 5 gp, 38 pp, and 4 zircons (worth 50 gp each) in his purse. He wears chain mail and shield, and carries two hammers. The chain mail, shield, and one of the hammers are festooned with divine script.

The magical darkness disspells as you search him and you hear moans as Calmert regains some mobility in his frozen joints. The spell slowly wears off.

The other cleric wears chain and a shield. His crimson hooded robe has gold embroidered skulls on front and back; his golden chain and fire amulet are worth 100 gp. He also wears a ring that looks interesting. In the pommel of his mace is a small but carefully set ruby worth 1,000 gp. He keeps 14 ep, 9 gp, and 21 pp in his purse.

The half-orc cools. He wears a red robe (smeared with blood from Glimmer) with a gold skull emblem, but with plate mail armor underneath, and carries a shield as well. His gold fire amulet on a gold chain is worth 100 gp. He wears a ring set with a large violet garnet (jewelry value 700 gp), and carries 11 ep, 16 gp, and 7 pp in his purse.

Image

The main room (205b) is thickly strewn with rugs; carpets and tapestries cover the walls. Illumination comes from several candelabra, hanging lamps, and a fireplace. Plush furniture and soft cushions are everywhere. The colors are all bright — scarlet, hot orange, fiery gold, and brilliant blue. Small tables hold ewers and cups, and dishes of nuts and sweetmeats. A large box stands near the fireplace. The plastered ceiling is painted with scenes of demons and humans in lewd activities. Under a heap of pillows is a hooded robe of scarlet hue.

The two other doors north and the one south are ajar. No sound comes from any of them.

"Ghastly thing," says Odo, wrinkling his nose at the skull-festooned red robes. "None for me, thanks. Now, those gems, on the other hand—I wouldn't say no to one of those!"

He pads into the room and listens at each of the open doors. If he still hears nothing, he looks more closely at the box, checking for traps.

Odo finds no traps on the box, which opens easily. The box by the fireplace is filled with billets of wood, charcoal, and kindling for the maintenance of the fire.
