Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin smiles at the contents of the scroll and says "Now these could come in handy." He quietly reveals the contents to the others. As he does, he pauses and says "Do be careful at that door, eh?"

He stands back, really anxious to get cleaned up and wash the stink and filth from himself....

Calthas prepares an arrow, just in case.

Odo inspects the secret door (which seems so obvious now that it's been pointed out). He finds no traps.

The door opens when a brick is pushed in. Luckily it opens away from you, who knows if you'd be able to get it open with the garbage littering the floor. A peek down the hallway revealed shows a door!

Tavin - Monk

Tavin will move into the corridor and listen at the door.

Tavin has a 15 percent chance to hear noises.

Tavin enters the short hall, which is filled with various poor but edible foodstuffs, some meats and cheeses, and barrels of grain, flour, biscuits, beer, vinegar, wine, and salt. Almost as if it's a larder.

He presses his ear to the door and hear voices, but he can't make out what is being said. He can faintly smell cooking over the scent of garbage that followed him from the last room.

Odo quietly checks for traps on the door...

Bror "We find more ale and food eh?" the dwarf asks with a smile.

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin follows the others, glancing at the scroll. He mumbles "Febreze? Could it be? I haven't seen this in ages..." He'll try to cast the Febreze from the scroll, seeing if the arcane magics work. If they do, he'll re-equip himself and get suited back up, tucking the scroll in his scroll tube for later examination...

Thurwin casts his cantrip and the smells in the garbage room disappear. There is no covering smell: merely no bad smell at all.

Soon, the smell of cooking that the monk told you about comes wafting into the garbage room, although it too is snuffed out (heh) once it enters the room far enough.

Odo reports back that there are no traps.

"The question is: do we open the door or not?" says Calthas. "If we do not, someone will probably take notice that the secret door is uncovered. I suggest we do not leave a potential threat behind."

Thurwin - Wizard

Thurwin whispers "we could open the door and see who is there, if they are not nice, I can put a friendly stink cloud right in the middle of 'em."

Calmert: Cleric
Calmert nods, "OK, I agree, let's not leave anything behind us. Let's have a look." and with that the Gnome gets his shield and mace at the ready and steps back to allow Tavin to do his action.

Odo tries to make himself even smaller and more inconspicuous than he usually is. "People do so hate to be bothered during dinner," he observes.

The door is opened.

Image

This 30 ' x 40 ' room was once quite splendid, if its wall hangings, carpet remnants, and battered furnishings are any gauge. Cressets and sconces of bronze line the walls. Four small tables, six chairs, two couches, and two sideboards are here, as well as several boxes and chests. A large iron pot hangs from a bronze chain in the middle of the room (suspended from the place some filagreed lamp once hung) over a charcoal fire in a bronze bowl, its original purpose unknown.

Seven bugbears clad in black are here, lounging as if off duty. With them are six females, cooking a meal and otherwise prepping.

Surprise roll 1 or 2 [1d6] = 1 They are surprised by your sudden presence!

Can Effric tell at a glance - does their armor appear to be metal?
