Re: Part 10 - The Temple Again
Tavin - Monk
Tavin takes the oil from Odo, giving a warriors bow in return. Tavin will quietly tear about 6 inches of cloth from the lower part of his pants, left leg. He will poor a bit of oil on the floor and use the cloth to mop it around the floor and surrounding walls. Rinse and repeat until there is a uniform 10' to 20' coating in the hall. He will then slowly, quietly, rip the cloth into strips, tie them together into a 10' length (a fuse). He will leave one end in the oil coated hallway and run the rest south to where the party stands (I am assuming the party was about 1/2 way up the hall before detecting the noises and moved back a bit). Okay, we make some noise and draw them down towards us, wait until the first few are beyond the oil and then light the cloth or throw torches to the north... burn their support while we engage the few that made it through. He whispers among his comrades.

Thurwin - Wizard
Thurwin volunteers to be the hapless bait mage. If no one has an issue with it, he'll meander up that way, making his way toward the noise, when he sees the source, he'll act surprised and see what develops - but obviously fleeing before whatever is there can apprehend him.

Thurwin - Runnin' Wizard
Thurwin comes charging back down the hall toward the others "4 bugbears coming, right behind me! 1 took off in another direction, they've got red capes, and they didn't seem happy to see me!"
Thurwin will get out of the way - allowing the others to spring the ambush. As he falls to the back, he'll keep a watchful eye behind us.

Re: Part 10 - The Temple Again
The wizard sprints down the corridor towards the rest of the party. Filling the hall behind him are four bugbears, brandishing morning stars and spears. The wizard slips between the rest of the party and the bugbears eyes bug out when they see they were lead into a trap!
As the bugbears enter the oily area, the trap is sprung and the hallway fills with light and heat.

monster save vs breath (15) [1d20] = 10
monster save vs breath (15) [1d20] = 5

One scrambles back as the fire is lit, the flames acting as a barrier between you and he. Three others go up dmg [1d8] = 2, [1d8] = 7, [1d8] = 2 and scream as they burn. The single flask will burn out in another round (and they will emerge then), but you can make out their shapes in the flame in case you want to take...

Re: Part 10 - The Temple Again
Burning Bugbear, round 1
The bugbears burn as they try to get out of the flaming oil, dmg [1d8] = 1, [1d8] = 6, [1d8] = 2. The fourth stays back.
Calthas fires into the flames, calthas longbow [1d20+2] = 18+2 = 20, dmg [1d8] = 7 which? [1d3] = 1 adding injury to injury.
Effric Effric sling [1d20] = 5, dmg [1d4] = 2 hears his stone clatter beyond the burning pool.
Tavin which? [1d3] = 1 embeds a star.
Thurwin which? [1d3] = 2 does damage.
Odo which? [1d3] = 2 finished that bugbear off, its burning form falling into the oil.
Everyone else waits.
The flames die down and the two remaining bugbears emerge, ready for melee. The third, behind, readies a spear for the next round.
